Camila Escribens (right) bested 24 other competitors to win Miss Peru 2023 (Miss Universe Peru 2023) during the live telecast of the reality TV show "Esto es Guerra" on Thursday, May 18 in Lima. The 24-year-old fashion model and former Miss Grand Peru clinched the title in her third attempt at the national pageant and will now represent her country at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador later this year. Rounding out the Top 5 finalists were Suheyn Cipriani, Nathaly Terrones, Gianella Rázuri, and Alexandra Balarezo. They were announced as the first, second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. The contestants selected to compete for Miss Peru 2023 (Miss Universe Peru 2023) have been officially revealed. A total of 25 beauties will be vying for the coveted national title on a date yet to be announced. The winner will get the opportunity to represent her country at Miss Universe 2023 in San Salvador, El Salvador later this year. Former Miss Grand Peru, Camila Escribens, decided to give pageantry another try by joining Miss Peru 2023 national competition. The 24-year-old Lima-born fashion model is no stranger to pageantry. After bagging the title of Miss Grand Peru 2019, she went on to participate in the 7th Miss Grand International pageant in Caracas, Venezuela, and finished in the Top 10 among 60 competitors. She was later on nominated by the Miss Peru Organization as Miss Supranational Peru 2020 and was supposed to take part in the 12th Miss Supranational edition in Poland but withdrew due to health reasons. At present, the national organization holds the licenses for Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Grand International, and Miss Supranational pageants. Alessia Rovegno was crowned Miss Peru 2022 (Miss Universe Peru) in a glittering competition that was held on Tuesday, June 14 in Lima. The 24-year-old model, singer and influencer, who also received the Miss Photogenic award, is the daughter of actress Bárbara Cayo and the current partner of athlete Hugo García. Tatiana Calmell and Tatiana Calmell were named Miss Peru International 2022 and Miss Peru Latina Universal 2022, respectively. The new Miss Universe Peru succeeds last year's titleholder Yely Rivera and will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2022 pageant later this year.
