Kristianna Gordon from West Bay has been officially announced as Cayman Islands' representative for the 73rd Miss World competition. The 21-year-old graduate of St. Ignatius Catholic School is a dedicated advocate for empowering youth. She founded her Beauty with a Purpose platform, Unsilenced, which emphasizes child protection, consent, and emotional awareness for young individuals. Through her initiative, she strives to establish safe and supportive environments where young people feel valued, respected, and confident in their self-esteem. The new Miss World Cayman Islands is the granddaughter of Patrick and Celeste Broderick — longstanding leaders in Caymanian pageantry and former national franchise holders for Miss World and Miss Universe. Leanni Tibbetts of George Town was crowned Miss World Cayman Islands 2022 on Saturday, September 24 at Harquail Theatre. The 25-year-old aviation management graduate is a pilot and sub-lieutenant at the Cayman Islands Cadet Corps. Apart from winning her national title, she was also awarded Miss Photogenic, Best in Sports, Best in Island Couture, and Best in Interview. Melissa Bridgemohan and Latoya Jackson were announced as the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Deverlee Ramos Bodden and Angelique Copeland were the rest of the finalists. The new Miss World Cayman Islands is also an environmental conservation advocate who lives by the saying "Be the change" and she intends to use her platform to empower women, especially those in abusive situations, and to highlight environmental initiatives. The 3rd annual Miss World Cayman Islands pageant took place on Saturday, May 29 at the Harquail Theatre, George Town in Grand Cayman. Rashana Hydes bested four other beauties to be crowned Miss World Cayman Islands 2021. She succeeded Miss World Cayman Islands 2019 Jaci Patrick. The 24-year-old mental health advocate from West Bay holds a bachelor's degree in hospitality management. She can be described as ambitious, fair-minded, and artistic, who is passionate about various forms of creative expression. Sydonie Barrett and Alyssa West were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Krista Ebanks and Jesika Calderin-Ebanks completed the Top 5 finalists.
