The final competition of the Miss Beauty of the Netherlands 2022 pageant was held on Saturday, July 2 at Studio 21 in Hilversum. A 24-year-old interior designer from Dodewaard, Merel Hendriksen, was named Miss Earth Netherlands 2022 while a 17-year-old aspiring beautician from Houten, Floortje Timmer, clinched the title of Miss Teen of the Netherlands 2022. They will respectively represent the Netherlands at Miss Earth 2022 in the Philippines and Miss Teen International in India. Marit Beets was crowned Miss Grand Netherlands 2022 in a national competition held at Leonardo Royal Hotel in Amsterdam last April 24. The 22-year-old human resource management student who hails from the fishing town of Volendam succeeds Nathalie Yasmin. A transgender woman, Solange Dekker, made history after entering the Top 10 of Miss Nederland 2022 (Miss Universe Netherlands 2022) in a casting held in Amsterdam on Saturday, April 16. The casting event took place at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. Former Miss Nederland winners Zoey Ivory, Rahima Dirkse, and Denise Speelman were part of the judging panel. Mike van Wijk has been named the new Mister Global Netherlands and will represent his country at the 7th Mister Global pageant in Thailand next month. The 22-year-old entrepreneur from Sint-Michielsgestel currently works in construction and plans to open his own personal trainer studio in the future. He was a runner-up in Misters of the Netherlands 2021 and was originally supposed to join 21th edition of Manhunt International. Mister Global pageant will be hosting its 7th edition on March 15 in Mahasarakham, Thailand. Julia Sinning was crowned Miss Nederland 2021 in a glittering national competition held at Studio 21 in Hilversum on Sunday, August 29. The 24-year-old student from Amsterdam is training at a drama school (faaam Film Actors Academy) and currently part of "The Bachelor." The finalists of Miss Nederland 2021 (Miss Netherlands 2021) pageant have been revealed over the weekend at Studio 21 in Hilversum. During the casting day, around 50 beauties presented themselves in front of the distinguished panel of judges including former titleholders. The 10 selected finalists are Marlies Smedinga, Esmee Cornet, Benthe van der Kleij, Eleanor Dingemans, Julia Sinning, Myrthe van der Vlies, Shizen Wong, Kim van der Vlies, Maud van Oossanen and Isa de Bruin. They will be featured in a TV program and follow various training courses and workshops leading up to the final on a date yet to be announced.
