Miss World 2021: Contestants visit Sala Sinfónica Pablo Casals

Miss World 2021 contestants' adventure in sunny Puerto Rico continued with a visit to the Sala sinfónica Pablo Casals in San Juan to attend a classical concert. Los Cuentos De “Mi Madre La Oca” translated as the Stories of Mother Goose was directed by the talented Karlo Flores, who took the beauties on a journey with both vocal and musical storytelling. The reigning Miss World Toni-Ann Singh also joined the contestants together with Mr World Jack Heslewood and former Miss World winners Stephanie Del Valle and Vanessa Ponce. “The comedic ending was fun to watch. Certain folk tale endings were twisted, for example in the Princess and the Pea, the pea turned to soup. It was a very original Puerto Rican twist that I enjoyed,” Toni-Ann said about her favorite part of the concert. Source: Miss World

Miss World 2021: Head to Head Challenge Draw

Following their exciting arrival on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico and check-in at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve, the contestants' Head to Head challenges commenced on Tuesday, November 23. According to Miss World, the Head to Head Challenge is "a great way for each country to practice their interview skills as they speak about their passions and Beauty with a Purpose projects." Puerto Rico welcomes Miss World 2021 contestants from over 100 countries and territories

After months of preparation, the sunny Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico started welcoming the Miss World 2021 contestants from across the world. This is the first time that the prestigious competition is taking place in a Spanish-speaking territory. Renowned for local gems such as El Yunque National Forest, exquisite mountain ranges such as Cordillera Central, Sierra de Cayey, Sierra de Luquillo, and Sierra de Bermeja, and hundreds of miles worth of stunning shoreline, the contestants are excited to enjoy all that this tropical paradise has to offer. Over 100 beauties will be staying at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve in Rio Grande, a municipality on the east coast of the island, where they will enjoy exploring the tremendous lagoon-style pool, unique architecture, and experience the wonderful local hospitality that Puerto Rico has to offer. The 70th Miss World final will air live across the world from the  Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan on Thursday, December 16.

Over 100 contestants from around the world will soon arrive in Puerto Rico, the Island of Enchantment, for the prestigious 70th edition of the Miss World pageant. The beauties will be accommodated at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico in Río Grande, their official residence for the next four weeks of competition. Miss Grand International 2021 welcome ceremony and press conference was held on Thursday, November 18 at the Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort in Phuket, Thailand. Fifty-eight contestants wearing their stunning evening gowns and respective crowns arrived at the venue in a sports car. They raised a toast with the reigning queen Abena Appiah and MGI executives during the glittering event. Miss Puerto Rico, Vivianie Diaz Arroyo topped our list of best-dressed contestants followed by representatives from the Philippines, Thailand, Colombia, and Myanmar. Puerto Rico's Michelle Marie Colón shows off national costume for 70th Miss Universe

Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2021 Michelle Marie Colón showed off her national costume for the 70th Miss Universe pageant on the "Viva la Tarde" program of Wapa TV. The national costume called "Protectora de Nuestras Costas” not only pays tribute to the Puerto Rican Afro-descendants but also carries a message of awareness for the conservation of the environment. Recycled materials such as plastic bottles, caps, and bags, some of the most common and harmful pollutants in the seas, were collected and transformed into art and music elements for this beautiful creation. Inspired by Puerto Rico's first indigenous music "la bomba" the costume is a collaborative work of Dominican designers Leonel Lirio and plastic artist Luis Rivas. “I wanted a dress that had color, movement, and that transmitted energy. Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2021 is Michelle Colón

Loíza representative, Michelle Colón, was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2021 in a glittering competition held on Thursday, September 30 in San Juan. The 21-year-old model and pre-medicine student who created the CARE Empowerment Program succeeds Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2020 and Miss Universe Top 10 finalist, Estefanía Soto. San Lorenzo’s Jaylene Marie Álvarez and Dorado’s Oxana Isabel Rivera were respectively named the first and second runners-up while Toa Baja’s Heilymar Rosario, Trujillo Alto’s Sthephanie Marie Miranda, and Villalba’s Gabriela Guzmán completed the Top 6. Miss World 2021 will be held at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan

At a packed press conference today, it was announced that due to exceptional demand for tickets, the Miss World Final had been moved to Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot the largest indoor venue in the country! Tickets for the 16th December final are expected to go on sale from September 17th. The Coliseum, in San Juan is the biggest indoor arena in Puerto Rico and is dedicated to entertainment. Opened in 2004, ‘Choliseo’ as it is nicknamed, can accommodate up to 18,500 spectators. It has been voted as one of the top 10 arena venues in the world. At the Press Conference, Julia Morley Chairman and CEO of Miss World was joined by reigning Miss World – Toni-Ann Singh, Stephanie Del Valle - Miss World 2016 and Vanessa Ponce De Leon - Miss World 2018.  Julia spoke of her deep pride in Puerto Rico being the host of the 70th Final. She thanked Puerto Rico’s two Miss World winners Wilnelia Merced Forsyth and Stephanie Del Valle for bringing the spirit of Puerto Rico in to her own life

Miss Supranational 2021: Meet the Supra Model of the Year Top 5

The Top 5 of the Miss Supranational 2021 Top Model competition have been announced on Wednesday, August 18 at the Hotel Beskid in Nowy Sącz. Louise-Marie Losfeld (Belgium), Alice Li (China), Darelys Santos (Panama), Karla Guilfú Acevedo (Puerto Rico), and Amelia Michael Sky (South Sudan) were named the Top Models of their respective regions. The winner of the Top Model competition will automatically advance to the final Top 24 on Saturday, August 21. Miss Supranational 2021: Puerto Rico's Karla Guilfu wins Miss Elegance

Puerto Rico's Karla Guilfu was named Miss Elegance 2021 in a special red carpet event held at the Muszyna City Hall in Małopolska on Friday, August 13. Miss Supranational Philippines Dindi Pajares and Miss Supranational Dominican Republic Eoanna Constanza were the first and second runners-up, respectively. The certified yoga instructor and model who hails from Isla Culebra will compete with over 50 other contestants in the 12th edition of the Miss Supranational pageant. Denise Quiñones resigns as director of Miss Universe Puerto Rico

After three successful years, former Miss Universe Denise Quiñones has resigned as national director of the Miss Universe Puerto Rico organization. Under her directorship, Puerto Rico managed to achieve high placements at Miss Universe with Kiara Ortega (Top 5), Madison Anderson (first runner-up), and Estefanía Soto (Top 10). Wapa Televisión, franchise holder of Miss Universe made the announcement on Saturday, May 21. The network will continue to work with the reigning queen and prepare for the staging of the national competition's next edition that will kick off casting early next month. Prior to becoming an actress, Denise was crowned Miss Universe 2001  at Coliseo Rubén Rodríguez in Bayamón. She was the fourth representative from Puerto Rico to win the pageant. Reigning Miss World Toni-Ann Singh visits Puerto Rico

Miss World 2019 Toni-Ann Singh has on the weekend arrived in Puerto Rico together with Miss World Organization's Julia Morley ahead of the Miss World 2021 competition on the island later this year. They were welcomed by former Miss World from Puerto Rico and Miss World 2021 organizer, Stephanie del Valle. It was Toni-Ann's first official trip since the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions happened. The Jamaican beauty said she was very excited about her visit as Puerto Rico is so much like her own country. During their official visit, they will attend meetings with local government officials and look at various locations to be selected for the 70th edition of the international pageant. Miss World 2021 is scheduled to be held on December 16 at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan.
