Puerto Rico's María Cepero crowned Miss Intercontinental 2024


María Cepero Jiménez of Puerto Rico was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2024 on Friday, December 6 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

The 26-year-old law student beat over 50 other contestants to win her country's 5th Miss Intercontinental title. She succeeds last year's winner Chatnalin Chotjirawarachat from Thailand.

Georgette Musrie of Venezuela was named first runner-up while Alyssa Redondo of the Philippines finished as the second runners-up.

Bui Khanh Linh of Vietnam, Celina Weil of Germany, Kenyatta Beazer of the USA, and Amanda Peresu of Zimbabwe were the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth runners-up, respectively.

Completing the Top 22 were the representatives of Belgium, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Colombia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Japan, Kenya, Moldova, Russia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Wales, and Zambia.

The continental titles were awarded to Zimbabwe (Africa), Vietnam (Asia and Oceania), Germany (Europe), the USA (North America), and Venezuela (South America).

This year's competition marked the 52nd edition of the annual Miss Intercontinental pageant.

The new Miss Intercontinental is no stranger to pageantry. She placed in the Top 5 at Miss World America 2023 and was first runner-up at Miss World Puerto Rico 2024.

Plus-sized beauty Sara Milliken was crowned the National American Miss Alabama 2024 during the state final held on May 27 at the Renaissance Marriot in Montgomery. The 23-year-old model and mental health advocate from Atmore, Alabama is now expected to represent her home state at the National American Miss 2024 competition later this year. Samuel Nwajagu of Nigeria was proclaimed the grand winner of the Mister International 2024 pageant on Saturday, December 14 in Bangkok, Thailand. Amadea Zupan was crowned Miss Slovenia 2024 (Miss World Slovenia) in a national competition held on Friday, January 10 in Lendava. The 26-year-old medical student at the University of Ljubljana beat 12 other contestants to win the title. She received the crown from her predecessor Alida Tomanič. Katja Zver was named first runner-up while Neja Prosenjak finished as second runner-up and also bagged the Miss Personality award. Miss America 2024 will be the 96th edition of the Miss America pageant — the nation's leading provider of scholarships for young women. The 51 state representatives have already been crowned and they will compete for the national title on January 14 at the Walt Disney Theater (Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts) in Orlando, Florida. Apart from raising the age limits to between 18 and 28, the 2024 competition under the new CEO Robin Ross-Fleming will also see other changes.
