70th Miss World: Top 40 semi-finalists arrive back in Puerto Rico for the final competition

The 70th Miss World Top 40 semi-finalists have arrived back in San Juan, Puerto Rico for the final competition this Wednesday, March 16 at Coca-Cola Music Hall. After more than 2 years and the unfortunate cancellation of the event last December, Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica, the longest-reigning Miss World in history will finally crown her successor. The highly-anticipated event will feature a musical performance by the Puerto Rico Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Miss World Musical Director Angel Velez, and a special tribute to the organization’s mission and legacy over the course of its tenured history will be made by Miss World 1975, Wilnelia Merced Forsyth TV personality Peter Andre and one of Latin America’s top actors and singers, Fernando Allende will serve as hosts. Meet the semi-finalists from Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, Nicaragua, Northern Ireland, Paraguay, Philippines, and Poland: MEXICO - Karolina Vidales - After graduating in Marketing and International Business, Karolina is currently working as an International Model and Tourism Ambassador. Her dream job would be to work for the United Nations Children’s Fund. She enjoys painting, photography, cooking, and roller skating and has a talent for singing and writing. Karolina’s favorite book is, ‘The Alchemist’ by Paolo Coehlo, and ‘Forrest Gump’ is her favorite film. Meet the semi-finalists from Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Kenya, Madagascar, and Malaysia: HUNGARY - Lili Totpeti - Lili is currently studying Event Management at University and her proudest moment is when she got accepted to University. She enjoys horse riding, painting and drawing and traditional folk dancing. In her spare time, Lili rescues stray and abandoned animals. Her favorite book is ‘The Great Gatsby.’ ‘Intouchables’ is her favorite film and she enjoys watching David Attenborough programs. Lili’s Beauty with a Purpose project supports abandoned and abused animals. This includes visiting animal shelters to give donations and provide loving care to the animals. Meet the semi-finalists from Colombia, Cote D’Ivoire, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, England, France, and Guinea: COLOMBIA - Andrea Aguilera - After completing her studies in Journalism and Neurolinguistics Programming, Andrea is currently working as a Journalist, TV Presenter, and Teacher of Early Childhood Care. She is a keen snowboarder and cheerleader and sings soprano in the Antioquia Music Conservatory. Andrea’s favorite film is ‘The Pink Panther’ and she enjoys eating seafood, pizza, and traditional Colombian food. Meet the semi-finalists from Argentina, Bahamas, Botswana, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, and China: ARGENTINA  - Amira Hidalgo - After receiving a scholarship to University to study for a master's in Investigative Journalism, Amira also works as a Journalist and News Producer. She holds the position of TV host for a National News Broadcaster. Her dream job would be to be a war correspondent. She plays the violin and enjoys running in her spare time. Amira’s Beauty with a Purpose project “Arte para Ciegos” (Art for the blind) provides the visually impaired with tools to help them develop independence and greater accessibility. Miss World Organization has officially announced the remaining 25 contestants who were chosen by the judges to join the 15 fast track winners back in Puerto Rico this March. They will arrive in the host country on March 12 while the rest of the 97 contestants will only be featured in the broadcast of the 70th Miss World final, which will air live on March 16 at 8 p.m. ET (local time) from the Coliseo De Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan.
