Karolína Michalčíková has been revealed as the Slovak Republic's official representative to the Miss Earth 2022 pageant in the Philippines this November. The 23-year-old professional makeup artist from Trenčín was named Miss Universe Slovakia in a national competition held last month and is also expected to compete in the 71st Miss Universe pageant this January. This year also marks the return of Slovakia to the Miss Earth competition after two years of absence. The country first joined in 2005 and its highest placement so far was a Top 8 finish in 2014 with Dária Fabrici. It isn't the first time a Miss Universe Slovakia crossed over to Miss Earth. Back in 2006, Judita Hrubyová participated in Miss Universe and went on to place in the Top 16 at Miss Earth. The Miss Great Britain 2022 national final was held on Friday, October 21 at Athena in Leicester City Centre, England. Over 60 incredible women from all over the country took part in the glittering show where three national titles were at stake — Miss Great Britain, Ms Great Britain and Ms Great Britain Classic 2022. Miss France 2023 will broadcast on December 17 live on TF1 from M.A.CH 36 in Châteauroux, Centre-Val de Loire. It will be the host city's second time holding the national pageant after the 2018 edition. The 14th Mister International pageant held an official press presentation on Sunday, October 23 at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City, Philippines. A "media popularity" poll was conducted among the members of the press where Juan Pablo Colías of Spain, Jacob Li of Hong Kong, MJ Ordillano of the Philippines, Surasak Muangkeaw of Thailand and Daryn Alexander of the USA emerged as winners. The Miss Venezuela 2022 "Gala Interactiva" was held on Saturday, October 22 where the voted winners of 12 special awards from the pageant's sponsors were announced. Lesego Chombo edged out nine other finalists to be crowned Miss Botswana 2022 on Saturday, October 22 at the Fairscape Precinct in Gaborone. The 24-year-old all-rounder beauty from Maun holds a law degree from the University of Botswana and is currently a practicing attorney at the High Court of Botswana. She will now prepare to represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant, whose date and venue are yet to be announced.
