Miss Grand International 2022: Standouts from the preliminary competition


The impressive Miss Grand International 2022 preliminary competition took place on Friday, October 21 at the Sentul International Convention Centre (SICC) in Bogor, Indonesia.

A total of 68 equally stunning contestants, who all did amazing presentations, walked the spectacular MGI stage in their sportswear by Ivan Gunawan and glittering evening gowns of their choice.

Standouts in sportswear were Angola, Argentina, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Crimea, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Indonesia, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Laos, Mexico, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

Standouts in evening gown were Angola, Argentina, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Crimea, Curacao, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Ghana, Honduras, Indonesia, Italy, Jamaica, Laos, Mauritius, Mexico, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Paraguay, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

Only two days left before the highly anticipated grand final show on Tuesday, October 25 at the same venue where one lucky contestant will succeed Vietnam's Nguyen Thuy Thuc Tien for the golden crown.

Miss Universe Great Britain 2025 is Danielle Latimer

Danielle Latimer beat over 30 other contestants to win Miss Universe Great Britain 2025 on Saturday, July 26 at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales. The 36-year-old entrepreneur, stylist and photographer will represent Great Britain at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Luissa Burton and Leigh Hutchinson were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Last year's winner Christina Chalk crowned her successor at the end of the event. "Last night, I had the honour of crowning one of the most selfless, talented woman I know," Christina shared online after the pageant. "For years, she's been the quiet powerhouse behind the scenes, uplifting the UK pageant community with everything she has. Miss Universe 2025: Meet the contestants

Miss Universe 2025, the 74th Miss Universe competition is set to take place on Friday, November 21 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark will hand over her crown to her successor at the conclusion of the event. This year's much-talked-about edition marked Thailand's fourth time hosting the prestigious beauty pageant after 1992, 2005, and 2018. Following the withdrawal of several countries including Cameroon, Germany, Iceland, Kenya, Mongolia, and Montenegro, 122 contestants from various countries and territories are left competing for the coveted international beauty title. Miss Universe 2026 host country and venue officially announced

The Miss Universe Organization has officially confirmed that Puerto Rico will be the host country for the Miss Universe 2026 pageant. Puerto Rican politician Jenniffer González Colón also made an announcement in a conference held on Tuesday, September 23 in San Juan. The 75th Miss Universe edition will be held in November 2026 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot, the largest indoor entertainment and sports arena in Puerto Rico. Reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark was present at the conference alongside former winners from Puerto Rico — Deborah Carthy-Deu (1985), Dayanara Torres (1993), Denise Quiñones (2001), and Zuleyka Rivera (2006). Former Miss Queen of Portugal Camila Vitorino was crowned Miss Universe Portugal 2025 last Saturday, June 14 in the beautiful and historic city of Elvas. The 26-year-old from São Sebastião, Setúbal made history as the first married woman and mother to become Miss Universe Portugal. Laura Malaquias, Diliana Fernandes, and Ivone Carneiro were announced as the first, second, and third runners-up, respectively. Tangia Zaman Methila was crowned Miss Universe Bangladesh 2025 in a special ceremony held on Thursday, September 18 in Dhaka. The 33-year-old model, TV host and film actress previously won Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020 but was unable to compete in the Miss Universe pageant due to travel restrictions. The 28-year-old model and influencer will now prepare to represent Chile at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Transgender woman Nguyen Huong Giang to represent Vietnam at Miss Universe 2025

Former Miss International Queen winner Nguyen Huong Giang has been officially announced on Wednesday, September 25 as Miss Universe Vietnam 2025. The 33-year-old model, singer and actress from Hanoi made history as the first ever transgender woman to represent Vietnam at Miss Universe. Huong Giang rose to prominence when she joined the fourth season of Vietnam Idol. She also competed and won The Amazing Race Vietnam 2014 with her ex-boyfriend Criss Lai. One of her proudest achievements in pageantry was winning Miss International Queen 2018, a prestigious beauty pageant for trans women in Pattaya, Thailand.
