Haley Berger, representing Lawrence, was crowned Miss Kansas USA 2023 on Sunday, June 18 at Polsky Theatre in the Midwest Trust Center, Overland Park. The 22-year-old pharmacy student at the University of Kansas will now prepare to represent Kansas at Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada on a date yet to be announced. Following an elimination round held last June 10 at AC Hotel in Kingston, the 30 contestants vying for Miss Universe Jamaica 2023 were officially unveiled. The selection committee members who selected the finalists consisted of Mark McDermoth, Karl Williams (Co-National Directors of the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization), Gario Graham, Emma Subratie, and the reigning queen Toshami Calvin. An official sashing ceremony and presentation will take place at the same venue next Sunday, June 25.
