For the first time in history, Pakistan will debut at the Miss International pageant with newly appointed Miss International Pakistan 2023 Misbah Arshad. The 26-year-old psychology student at the University of Hagen in Germany will now represent Pakistan at Miss International 2023 in Japan this October. Prior to her designation as Miss International Pakistan, she won the main title of Miss Pakistan World 2023 in a national competition held in Lahore last May 13. The 61st Miss International competition will take place on October 26 at the Yoyogi Gymnasium No. 2 in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Panameña Universal Organization officially announced Nicole Castillero as Miss Earth Panama 2023 via social media on Wednesday, August 2. The 23-year-old student pursuing a degree in marketing and international studies will now represent Panama at Miss Earth 2023 to be held in Vietnam this December. Nicole succeeds last year's representative Valerie Solís who bagged a silver medal for Best in Talent during the Miss Earth 2022 competition in the Philippines. Panama has yet to win the Miss Earth crown since joining for the first time in 2001. Its highest placement was in 2006 when Stefanie de Roux Martin placed in the Top 8. After five years, the Miss Universe Puerto Rico organization and Wapa Televisión officially presented a new crown named "Evolución" (Evolution). The new masterpiece was designed by Gabriela Rodríguez and Lido Jewelers, the same creators of the "Renacer" (Renaissance) crown that was worn from 2018 until 2022. With the presence of 31 contestants vying for Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023, the unveiling ceremony took place on Wednesday, August 2 at the Lido Jewelers venue in the Mall of San Juan. Modernity, simplicity, and elegance describe the design of the new crown for the national pageant. It is made of 18-carat white gold and silver, 10-carat channel-mounted diamonds, aquamarine stones, and a pearl. Djulieta Calalb has been confirmed to represent Moldova at the Miss International 2023 pageant in Japan this October. The 18-year-old model and recent high school graduate finished as first runner-up at the Miss Moldova 2023 final held in Chişinău last May. Prior to placing second at the national competition, she previously held the titles Catwalk Top Model Romania 2022 and Top Model Moldova 2021. Moldova, an Eastern European country, last joined Miss International in 2018 with Daniela Marin. The new Miss International Moldova will now prepare to compete in the 61st Miss International to be held on October 26 in Shibuya, Tokyo. Karla Bchir edged out 13 other competitors to win Miss Côte d'Azur 2023 in a competition held on Sunday, July 30 at Arènes de Fréjus. The 19-year-old model and real estate student from Cannes succeeds Flavy Barla and will now represent Côte d'Azur at Miss France 2024 later this year. The runners-up were Doriana Bodart, Jade Gabet, Laurene Verrat, and Lou-Ann Huguet. Prior to winning her title, the new Miss Côte d'Azur was named Miss Cannes 2023 in June. Earlyca Frederick was crowned Miss Universe Saint Lucia 2023 on Monday, July 31 at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian in Gros Islet. Fashion designer Laylah Rose has been announced as the new license holder and will serve as the president and CEO for the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants. The founder of Laylah Rose Couture and also the CEO of VIP Pageantry replaces Miss Brand and former Miss USA national director Crystle Stewart. Reno, Nevada will again host this year's Miss USA and Miss Teen USA with Emmy Award-winning executive producer Kerri Zane of Kerri Zane Enterprises and Bud Brutsman of Brentwood Communications International, Inc. handling the productions. Former Miss USA Crystle Stewart will no longer be the national director for the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA competitions. To recall, the Miss Universe Organization gave her a license to run the pageants in 2020 but a suspension occurred in October of last year following rigged allegations that were thrown at the results of Miss USA 2022.
