Fabiola Calvo appointed as Miss Asia Pacific Costa Rica 2024

Fabiola Calvo has been officially announced as Miss Asia Pacific Costa Rica 2024 and will represent her country at the next Miss Asia Pacific International competition. The 28-year-old is a professional nurse, entrepreneur, activist, and health advocate. She is no stranger to pageantry, having placed in the Top 10 at Miss Costa Rica 2016 and Top 5 at Miss Costa Rica 2023. Fabiola also held the title Miss America Latina Costa Rica 2019 and went on to compete in Miss America Latina 2019 where she placed in the Top 5. It has yet to be announced when and where the next Miss Asia Pacific International edition will be held. The international pageant was last held in 2019 with Spain's Chaiyenne Huisman winning the title in Pasay City, Philippines. The 26-year-old model has made headlines around the world after winning her title as she is the first-ever caucasian woman to become Miss Japan in the pageant's 56-year history. Her victory ignited an online debate with many questioning the results, saying her win was "inappropriate" as "Miss Japan should be genetically Japanese." The Miss International 2024 competition has been announced to be held on November 12 in Tokyo, Japan. This year's pageant will mark the 62nd edition of the Japan-based international beauty pageant. Tokyo first hosted Miss International in 1968 after being held in the USA since its inauguration in 1960. The pageant has already been held in the Japanese capital numerous times including last year's remarkable show. As of today, a few national winners have been crowned so far and further details including the final venue have yet to be officially revealed. MEXICO CITY — The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) and its owner, the Thailand-based JKN Global Group, are excited to announce a new partnership with Mexican business conglomerate Legacy Holding. According to a press release on Tuesday, January 23, this strategic investment for growth will build the brand’s international profile and allow for new product and marketing opportunities, in the global market. Longtime pageant fan Raul Rocha Cantú, Legacy Holding's board president and CEO, joins JKN Global’s founder and CEO Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip as co-owner of the merged, privately-held company JKN Legacy. Former Miss Earth Katherine Espin has officially auditioned for CNB Ecuador 2024 (Miss Universe Ecuador 2024). The 31-year-old is a lawyer, mother, and currently the president of the Miss Earth Ecuador organization. Following Olga Alava who clinched Ecuador's first Miss Earth title in 2011, Katherine won Miss Earth 2016 among 83 contestants at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines.
