70th Miss World Karolina Bielawska has arrived in Vietnam for the first time to attend the Miss World Vietnam 2022 pageant as a special guest. The Polish beauty, who received the warmest welcome from the people, will also visit the Miss World Vietnam Beauty With A Purpose projects as part of her 4-day itinerary. She also had the chance to try her first Vietnamese food and wear an Ao Dai, the country's traditional national garment. In an official press conference that took place on Thursday, August 11 in Binh Dinh, Karolina dazzled like a Disney princess in a pink gown by Vietnamese designer Le Thanh Hoa. The search for the next Miss Universe Colombia, who will represent her country at Miss Universe 2023, kicked off with the official casting that took place on Monday, August 8 at Casa Dann Carlton Hotel & Spa in Bogotá. With the presence of reigning Miss Universe Colombia 2022 María Fernanda Aristizábal, who will compete in Miss Universe 2022 later this year, the aspirants faced the selection committee including Miss Universe Colombia organization president Natalie Ackermann, Vae bienestar integral's Dr. Victoria Escalante, and businesswoman Loren Hatch. Seira Inoue was crowned Miss Grand Japan 2022 during the national competition held on Saturday, August 6 at Yokosuka Arts Theater in Kanagawa Prefecture. Swelia Da Silva Antonio was crowned Miss Universo Angola 2022 (Miss Universe Angola 2022) on Saturday, August 6 at Pérola dos Navegantes in Benguela. Joanna Camelle Mercado, representing the Philippines, bested 24 other contestants to win Miss Continentes Unidos 2022 (Miss United Continents 2022) on Saturday, August 6 at Parque Las Vegas in Portoviejo, Ecuador. The 26-year-old resort ambassador from Floridablanca, Pampanga, holds a bachelor's degree in secondary education and worked as a teacher. She is the second woman from the Philippines to win the crown next to Jeslyn Santos. Ivanova Vélez of Ecuador was named first runner-up while Karen Ortíz of Colombia finished as second runner-up.
