South Africa's Gizzelle Uys wins Miss Eco International 2020

Gizzelle Uys of South Africa was crowned Miss Eco International 2020 in a competition held at the Baron Resort Sharm El Sheikh in South Sinai, Egypt on Sunday, April 4.

The 23-year-old actress, model and dancer who hails from Pretoria bested 38 other beauties to win the international pageant.

Kelley Day of the Philippines and Alexandria Kelly of the United States of America were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Steffanía Rodríguez of Venezuela and Kristel Ruiz Freeman of Costa Rica completed the Top 5.

The new Miss Eco International succeeds Amy Nur Tinie Abdul Aziz of Malaysia who took over the title after the last winner from Peru, Suheyn Cipriani, was dethroned.

Hosted by Nancy Magdy, the event was the 6th edition of the pageant that aims to promote the protection and preservation of our environment.

The coronation ball for The Miss Philippines 2026 took place on Sunday, May 10, at the Grand Ballroom in City of Dreams Manila. Nadia Mejia-Webb crowned Miss Universe Ecuador 2025

Nadia Mejia-Webb, representing Comunidad USA, was crowned Miss Universe Ecuador 2025 in a national competition held on Saturday, July 26 at Palacio de Cristal in Guayaquil. The 29-year-old model and singer will now prepare to represent Ecuador at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Daphne Currat of Tungurahua and Christie Termidor of Región Sierra were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Danielle Latimer beat over 30 other contestants to win Miss Universe Great Britain 2025 on Saturday, July 26 at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales. After 17 years, former Miss France Sylvie Tellier has officially announced her departure from the Miss France organization. The 44-year-old took to social media on Wednesday, August 31 to make a public statement on her decision to leave, which was made "with a lot of emotion because you don't leave a company after 17 years without memories in your head."
