Chile's Daniela Nicolás heads to US for the 69th Miss Universe competition

Miss Universe Chile 2020 Daniela Nicolás has left for the US to take part in the upcoming 69th Miss Universe competition.

The 28-year-old journalist and actress wore an outfit by Ángel Ovidio during her departure at the Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santiago.

Daniela will compete with over 70 other beauties to win her country's second Miss Universe title at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on May 16 at 8 p.m. ET.

Chile first won the Miss Universe pageant in 1987 with Cecilia Bolocco. Its last placement was in the Top 15 in 2004 courtesy of Gabriela Barros.

Señorita Colombia 2021 is Valentina Espinosa of Bolívar

Valentina Espinosa, the representative of the Bolívar department, was chosen as the new Señorita Colombia 2021 (Miss Colombia 2021) in a ceremony full of color, music, and a lot of Colombian talent on Sunday, November 14 at the Auditorio Getsemaní del Centro de Convenciones Julio Cesar Turbay Ayala in Cartagena. The 23-year-old social communication and journalism professional triumphed over 24 other beauties to win her national title. She succeeds María Fernanda Aristizábal Urrea and is expected to represent her country at the next Miss Supranational edition in Poland. The 51 state winners competing for Miss USA 2024 have already been crowned in their respective state competitions. This year's pageant is considered the most diverse in the 73-year history of Miss USA since the Miss Universe Organization changed rules allowing all women from age 18 to compete. Pernambucana Luana Cavalcante was crowned Miss Universe Brazil 2024 in a national competition held on Thursday, September 19 at Teatro Gamaro in São Paulo. The 25-year-old model and actress from the state of Pernambuco will represent Brazil at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November. Sigríður Ósk Hrafnkelsdóttir, also known as Sigga Ózk, was crowned Ungfrú Ísland 2026 (Miss Iceland 2026) on Wednesday, April 22 at at Gamla Bíó in Reykjavík. The singer-songwriter from Garðabær will now prepare to represent Iceland at the Miss Universe 2026 pageant to be held in Puerto Rico this November.
