Chile's Daniela Nicolás heads to US for the 69th Miss Universe competition

Miss Universe Chile 2020 Daniela Nicolás has left for the US to take part in the upcoming 69th Miss Universe competition.

The 28-year-old journalist and actress wore an outfit by Ángel Ovidio during her departure at the Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santiago.

Daniela will compete with over 70 other beauties to win her country's second Miss Universe title at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on May 16 at 8 p.m. ET.

Chile first won the Miss Universe pageant in 1987 with Cecilia Bolocco. Its last placement was in the Top 15 in 2004 courtesy of Gabriela Barros.

Aslihan Morali, from Ancaster, Ontario, was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2026 on Saturday, August 8 at the Chrysler Theatre in Windsor. The Turkish-Canadian advocate, entrepreneur, model and actor succeeds last year's winner Jaime VandenBerg and will represent Canada at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Puerto Rico this November. The inaugural edition of the Reina Filipinas beauty pageant was held on Friday, August 7 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City. Palawan's Angelica Lopez, former Miss International Philippines, was crowned Reina Filipinas Grand International 2026 and will represent the Philippines at Miss Miss Grand International 2026 pageant this October. Melissa Bottema was proclaimed the winner of Miss Netherlands 2026 (Miss Universe Netherlands) on Saturday, June 27 at Studio 21 in Hilversum. The 17th Miss Supranational beauty pageant was held on Friday, July 31 at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz, Poland. Katrina Llegado, a 28-year-old financial management graduate from the Philippines, was crowned Miss Supranational 2026 by her predecessor Eduarda Braum of Brazil.
