Malaysia's Francisca Luhong James off to the US for the 69th Miss Universe pageant

Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 Francisca Luhong James proudly waved her national flag in a Rizman Ruzaini send-off outfit during her departure for the US on Wednesday, May 5.

The 25-year-old marketing executive also shared a sneak peek of her catwalk for the 69th Miss Universe pageant before her flight at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

In a post on her official social media page, Francisca wrote a message for her parents who came all the way from Sarawak to support her.

"It’s been a long journey. Finally, here we are now. They never stop me from reaching my milestones. I will forever be your Luhong James, your one and only daughter, who is always full of surprises. I’m happy to have both of them by my side before the take off. This is just the beginning," she said.

The 69th Miss Universe pageant will air live from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on May 16 at 8 p.m. ET.

Miss Universe Philippines 2025, the sixth edition of the annual pageant has culminated last night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Heavy favorite Maria Ahtisa Manalo, 27, from Candelaria, Quezon Province, bagged the crown among 66 contestants following a tough competition. She will compete in Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. The Philippines last won the Miss Universe crown in 2018 with Catriona Gray when the pageant was held in Bangkok, Thailand. Tonight, 66 of the world's most beautiful and empowered Filipinas will vie for the highly coveted title of Miss Universe Philippines 2025. Firsta Yufi Amarta Putri was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2025 on Saturday, May 2 at the Plenary Hall of the Jakarta International Convention Center in Jakarta. A total of 45 contestants from across the country battled it out to win the national title but the 23-year-old representative of Jawa Timur (East Java) emerged as the top winner. The rest of the Top 4 were Melliza Xaviera Putri Yulian of Jakarta SCR 1, Salma Ranggita of Sumatera Selatan 1, and Rinanda Maharani of Kalimantan Timur. Maria Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025 on Friday, May 2 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. The 27-year-old from  Candelaria bested 65 other contestants to win the national title. She will represent the Philippines at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. No stranger to pageantry, Ahtisa is a former  Binibining Pilipinas International titleholder who went on to place first runner-up at the Miss International 2018 competition in Japan. Kunda Mwamulima was crowned Miss Universe Zambia 2025 on Saturday, April 20 at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre (MICC) in Lusaka. The 29-year-old registered nurse and model will now prepare to represent Zambia at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. No stranger to pageantry, Kunda is a former Miss Earth Zambia titleholder who competed in Miss Earth 2023 in Vietnam.
