Nepal's Anshika Sharma to wear Mount Everest-inspired national costume at the 69th Miss Universe

Miss Universe Nepal 2020 Anshika Sharma has revealed her costume inspired by the highest mountain on Earth for the 69th Miss Universe pageant in Florida, USA this May.

Designed and conceptualized by fashion designer Bina Ghale, the "Ode to Mountaineers" national costume features a mountaineering ensemble and prayer flags in five colors.

"Theme by me - I wanted to do something that had never been done before, take the pride of Nepal to the Universe," Anshika shared on her social media page.

"Every year, the world visits Nepal for its mountains. This year, we take the mountains to the world," the 24-year-old business analyst said.

Mount Everest is a peak in the mountain range of the Himalayas. It is located between Nepal and Tibet, an autonomous region of China. At 8,849 meters (29,032 feet), it is considered the highest point on Earth.

Gia Soleil Espinoza of Texas was crowned Miss Earth USA 2026 in a national competition held on Saturday, January 3 at Rosen Centre in Orlando, Florida. The 20-year-old criminal justice major and third-generation business owner from El Paso succeeds last year's winner Haley Poe. She will represent the USA at Miss Earth 2026 later this year. The glittering Miss Turkey 2025 national competition was held last December 19 at the Lazzoni Hotel in Istanbul. A total of 20 stunning finalists were chosen to compete for the national titles that were at stake — Miss Turkey World and Miss Turkey Supranational. The 23-year-old model and actress from Miranda will represent Venezuela at the Miss Universe 2026 pageant to be held in Puerto Rico. Mística Nuñez, representing Falcón, was crowned Miss Venezuela World 2025 in a national competition held at the Studio 1 of Venevisión on Wednesday, November 12 in Caracas. Daumier Corilla of the Philippines was proclaimed Mister Global 2024 on Sunday, October 6 at MCC Hall of The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi in Bangkok, Thailand. The 28-year-old model, actor, and host bested over 30 other contestants to become the first-ever Filipino winner of the international male pageant. Maria Gabriela Lacerda, representing the state of Piauí, was crowned Miss Universe Brazil 2025 on Thursday, February 13 in Alphaville, São Paulo. The 22-year-old journalist bested 23 other contestants to win the beauty title. She received her crown from Brazil's first Miss Universe winner, Miss Universe 1963 Ieda Maria Vargas. Aline Fritsch of Rio Grande do Sul and Ana Carolina Ceolin Comério of Espírito Santo were the first and second runners-up, respectively. "This crown is ours, my Piauí.
