Jane Dipika Garrett bested over 20 other competitors to win Miss Universe Nepal 2023 on Saturday, September 9 at the Godavari Sunrise Convention Center. The 22-year-old nurse and business developer from Kathmandu made history as she became the first-ever plus-size beauty to win the national title. She is advocating for mental health, body positivity, and hormonal health for women in Nepal. "As a woman who is curvy and who does not meet certain beauty standards, I'm here to represent women who are curvy, who struggle with weight gain, who struggle with hormonal issues — I believe that there is not only one type of beauty standard but every single woman is beautiful just as she is," said the new Miss Universe Nepal. The Top 22 semifinalists vying for the coveted national title of Miss Universe Nepal 2023 were officially presented to the press on Friday, August 18 at Dusit Princess Kathmandu. This year's national final will take place on September 9 at Godavari Sunrise Convention Center. Reigning Miss Universe Nepal Sophiya Bhujel will crown her successor at the end of the event. Miss Universe Nepal 2022 is Sophiya Bhujel

Sophiya Bhujel was crowned Miss Universe Nepal 2022 in a glittering show held Thursday, August 25 at Hotel Yak & Yeti in Kathmandu. The 26-year-old beauty, who holds a degree in business management, bested 19 other finalists to win her national title. She succeeds last year's winner Sujita Basnet and will represent her country at Miss Universe 2022, whose date and venue are yet to be announced. Bipana Adhikari was named first runner-up while Ashma KC finished as second runner-up. Sefina Joshi and Monalisha Parajuli were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. This year's competition was the third edition of the Miss Universe Nepal pageant under the leadership of former titleholder Nagma Shrestha. The new Miss Universe Nepal is no stranger to pageantry. 70th Miss Universe: Contestants depart for Israel to conquer the Universe

In a few hours, over 70 beauties from across the world will arrive in Israel to compete for the coveted title of Miss Universe. Despite the current situation with the pandemic, the contestants are filled with excitement and positive energy to represent their countries on the prestigious global stage. Pre-arrival favorites are Paraguay, India, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Philippines, Colombia, South Africa, Argentina, France, Spain, Mexico, Vietnam, and Chile. The 70th Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2021) pageant will be held on Sunday, December 12 in the southern Israeli port and resort town, Eilat. It will air live on Fox, Telemundo, and different channels worldwide. American television presenter Steve Harvey will return as host and Israeli singer Noa Kirel will be the special guest performer. Miss Universe Nepal 2021 is Sujita Basnet

Sujita Basnet was crowned Miss Universe Nepal 2021 in a national competition held on Saturday, October 30 at the Hotel Yak & Yeti in Durbar Marg, Kathmandu. The 28-year-old US resident is a management consultant who holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical/medical engineering. She was last year's runner-up to her predecessor, Anshika Sharma. Nina Kant Mandal was named first runner-up while Rakchya Upreti secured the second runner-up finish. Pratiksha Chhetri and Keshu Khadka were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Universe Nepal is the founder of LiberatED, a program that aims to empower and uplift the youth from under-resourced communities through education, leadership training, and access to resources. From the Top 50, only 18 beauties were selected for the close camp & grand final following their commendable scores from the average in swimsuit walk, live interview, and voting. Nepal's Anshika Sharma to wear Mount Everest-inspired national costume at the 69th Miss Universe

Miss Universe Nepal 2020 Anshika Sharma has revealed her costume inspired by the highest mountain on Earth for the 69th Miss Universe pageant in Florida, USA this May. Designed and conceptualized by fashion designer Bina Ghale, the "Ode to Mountaineers" national costume features a mountaineering ensemble and prayer flags in five colors. "Theme by me - I wanted to do something that had never been done before, take the pride of Nepal to the Universe," Anshika shared on her social media page. "Every year, the world visits Nepal for its mountains. This year, we take the mountains to the world," the 24-year-old business analyst said. Mount Everest is a peak in the mountain range of the Himalayas. It is located between Nepal and Tibet, an autonomous region of China. Nepal's Anshika Sharma is off to the US for the 69th Miss Universe pageant

Miss Universe Nepal 2020 Anshika Sharma has left for the US on Monday night to compete in the upcoming 69th Miss Universe pageant. The 24-year-old business analyst took to social media to share her photos before departure wearing an outfit by luxury fashion brand Rumor Has It while holding her national flag. "I am overwhelmed with all the love and blessings I am being showered with. Just know that you all are within me and we together will make Nepal proud," she said. Anshika will compete with over 70 other beauties from around the world to win her country's first Miss Universe. She is currently considered one of the strongest delegates in the competition. Since its debut at Miss Universe in 2017, Nepal's highest achievement in the pageant was in 2018 when Manita Devkota placed in the Top 10.
