Former Miss Earth Katherine Espin announces engagement to boyfriend Daniel Lopez


Former Miss Earth Katherine Espin has announced her engagement to commercial real estate agent boyfriend Daniel Lopez.

The beauty queen turned lawyer and national director shared the unexpected proposal that took place in Manhattan, New York on her social media account with the caption: "I said yes to the love of my life. Life put us together and now God will keep us together forever."

"I still can’t believe this is happening in my life. I dreamt of this moment all my life and once again I believe that dreams come true," she wrote in another post with a video of the proposal.

"I can’t wait for all that life has prepared for us. Thank you for making me the happiest woman every day, I love you forever my love," she added.

Katherin represented Ecuador at Miss Earth 2016 in the Philippines, at the age of 24. She bested 82 other contestants from around the world to win her country's second Miss Earth crown next to Olga Álava who won in 2011.

During her reign, she has traveled to Angola, Ghana, Reunion Island, Singapore, the United States, the Middle East, Puerto Rico, Chile, and numerous trips around the Philippines while advocating environmental preservation.

Miss Denmark 2026 is Simone Julie Lythje from Silkeborg

The Miss Denmark 2026 pageant, celebrating its 100th anniversary, took place on Sunday, September 13, at the renowned Cirkusbygningen in Copenhagen. Simone Julie Lythje, a 21-year-old teaching assistant from Silkeborg, Jutland, has been named the new Miss Denmark. She was presented with her crown by her predecessor, Josephine BĂžttger, who recently participated in Miss World 2026 held in Vietnam. Another notable winner from the event was 23-year-old Anne-Marie Olsvig Lauritzen from Ilulissat, who earned the title of Miss Greenland 2026. USA wins back-to-back Miss International Queen titles

Lo Colby of the USA was crowned Miss International Queen 2026 on Saturday, September 19 at the Tiffany's Show Pattaya in Pattaya, Thailand. The Hawaiian-born Thai-American transgender beauty based in Los Angeles bested 26 rival contestants to win the coveted title. She also bagged the Best in Talent award. Daiana Stefani Pereyra has officially been named the new Miss Universe Argentina 2026 after the crowned titleholder Tamara Rogouski stepped down for personal reasons. The 28-year-old cabin crew competed for La Pampa and earned the first runner-up position at the national pageant in May. Veera Grönlund, a 30-year-old from Helsinki, was crowned Miss Suomi 2026 (Miss Finland 2026) on Saturday, September 5, at Hybridiarena Hype in Espoo. Joheirry Mola Dominguez from the Dominican Republic bested 110 other contestants to win Miss World 2026 on Saturday, September 5 in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The 24-year-old model, teacher, news correspondent and advocate received the coveted crown and sash from her predecessor Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand. Dylan Palmerini from France was declared the winner of the Manhunt International 2026 competition on Wednesday, September 9, in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
