Mister Global 2021 kicks off in Thailand, final is on March 15

Mister Global pageant has kicked off its 7th edition in Mahasarakham, a province in the northeast of Thailand.

Over 30 inspiring gentlemen from around the world will compete for the coveted title which is currently held by Korea's Jung Woo Kim who won in 2019.

The contestants will be judged in three important categories; swimwear, evening wear, and interview.

One of the early favorites, Mike van Wijk will not be able to compete as he was tested positive for COVID-19 prior to his departure for Thailand.

In a statement on social media, his organization announced: "We are sorry to inform that the PCR results of Mister Global Netherlands Mike van Wijk are positive. For the safety of others, he is not allowed to travel today to Thailand. He will not be participating in the 7th Mister Global."

Mister Global 2021 will finally take place on Tuesday, March 15 after a 2-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
