Mexicana Universal 2022: Irma Miranda of Sonora to represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2022

Irma Miranda, representative of the state of Sonora, was crowned Mexicana Universal 2022 (Miss Universe Mexico 2022) at the Centro de Convenciones de San Luis Potosí (San Luis Potosi Convention Center) on Saturday, May 21.

The 25-year-old TV host and business administration graduate bested 31 other contestants to win her title. She succeeds Débora Hallal of Sinaloa and will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2022 later this year.

Itzía Garcia of Colima clinched the title Mexicana International 2023 (Miss International Mexico 2023) and will be sent to next year's Miss International pageant in Japan.

Diana Robles of Guanajuato and Verónica Gamboa of Nayarit were named Mexicana Hispanoamericana 2022 and Mexicana Latinoamericana 2023, respectively, while Mayra Valencia of Nuevo León became first runner-up.

"Follow your dreams, don't let anyone limit you, let no one tell you who to be, much less who to become," the new Miss Universe Mexico shared on social media after winning the pageant.

"You are the pilot of your life, live it, enjoy it and take advantage of every moment to grow, learn and raise your voice," she added.

Three former Miss Universe winners from Mexico, Lupita Jones (1991), Ximena Navarrete (2010), and Andrea Meza (2020), were present at the glittering event.
