Miss Wales 2022 is Darcey Corria, first woman of color to win the pageant


Darcey Corria bested 19 other finalists to be crowned Miss Wales 2022 in a glittering competition held at The Riverfront in Newport on Sunday, May 8.

The 21-year-old model and advocate from Barry was born to a white mother and a father of Jamaican heritage. She became the first-ever woman of color to win the Miss Wales pageant.

Chepstow's Zoe Scrimshaw and Bridgend's Catrin Harries were the first and second runners-up, respectively.

The new Miss Wales volunteers for Race Equality First and helps women from black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds in the community through health and fitness. She has also been actively involved in the Criminal Justice in Wales Anti-Racism Delivery Plan called Together Stronger.

"I am elated and honored to announce that last night I was crowned Miss Wales 2022. My journey has been one of perseverance and dedication, I remained true to myself and worked my socks off so I am overjoyed that my hard work has paid off," she shared on social media.

Darcey has already joined in 2019 and placed second runner-up. She succeeds last year's winner Olivia Harris and will now prepare to represent Wales at the 71st Miss World edition.

Miss Universe Finland 2025 is Sarah Anjelica Dzafce

Sarah Anjelica Dzafce bested nine other contestants to win Miss Suomi 2025 (Miss Universe Finland 2025) on Saturday, September 6 at Hybridiarena Hype in Espoo. The 22-yer-old fashion model and former competitive gymnast from Kuopio will represent Finland at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Iceland's Helena O'Connor withdraws from Miss Universe 2025

The Miss Iceland Organization has announced today that Miss Universe Iceland 2025 Helena Hafþórsdóttir O'Connor has withdrawn from the 74th Miss Universe pageant. In an official statement released on social media, the organization said that the 21-year-old psychology student from Viðey has been ill for the past few days. The statement also stated: "She is thankfully recovering but we are devastated to announce that, due to personal reasons, she has made the difficult decision of withdrawing from the Miss Universe competition in Thailand." Helena was crowned Ungfrú Ísland 2025 (Miss Iceland 2025) in Reykjavik last April. Miss Turkey 2024: Meet the Top 20 finalists

A total of 20 finalists have been selected to compete for Miss Turkey 2024 following an elimination round held on Wednesday, September 4 in Istanbul. The grand final will take place on September 11 at the Lazzoni Hotel and the winners are expected to represent Turkey at the next Miss World and Miss Supranational pageants. No competition was held last year and this year's upcoming final will be the 42nd edition of the annual national pageant. Miss Turkey 2024: Idil Bilgen wins Miss Turkey World 2024

Idil Bilgen was crowned Miss Turkey World 2024 during the Miss Turkey 2024 national final on Wednesday, September 11 at the Lazzoni Hotel in Istanbul. The 24-year-old medical doctor bested 19 other competitors to win the national title. She will prepare to represent Türkiye at the 72nd Miss World whose date and venue have yet to be announced. Cemre Üker clinched the Miss Turkey Supranational 2024 crown and will head to Poland to compete in Miss Supranational 2025 next summer. Anna Blanco Flores from Venezuela beat over 30 other contestant to win Miss Charm 2025 on Friday, December 12 in Ho Chi Minh City. The 25-year-old singer-songwriter and model was crowned by her predecessor Rashmita Rasindran from Malaysia. She became the first Venezuelan woman to hold the international beauty title.
