Miss Namibia 2022: Get to know the Top 12 finalists


The Miss Namibia 2022 national competition is scheduled to take place at the Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino on Friday, August 12.

A total of 12 finalists are vying for the national title currently held by Chelsi Shikongo, who represented Namibia during the 70th Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, Israel last December.

The Miss Namibia organization currently holds the right to send Namibian representatives to Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss Teen International competitions.

Last year's first runner-up Annerie Maré was named Miss World Nambia 2021 and went on to compete during 70th Miss World in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Meet this year's Top 12 finalists:

Aina Kweyo - a 26-year-old news anchor from Oniipa

Ashleigh Kleintjes - a 24-year-old candidate legal practitioner from Windhoek

Cassia Sharpley - 21, from Windhoek. She is a basic life support paramedic and student at Namibia University of Science and Technology pursuing a degree in emergency medical care

Diana Andimba - a 23-year-old architect in training from Windhoek

Elizabeth Namoloh - a 23-year-old student from Windhoek

Leoné Van Jaarsveld - a 26-year-old from Swakopmund. She works as a human resources managing assistant at Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre

Lilly Shihepo - a 26-year-old Diamond Mapper from Onamutanda Village

Michelle Mukuve - a 22-year-old student from Rundu

Nongee Faye Kandjii - a 26-year-old candidate attorney from Tsumeb

Uetuesa Zaire - a 22-year-old student and entrepreneur from Windhoek

Zawady Tjijombo - a 21-year-old student from Opuwo

Zhahida Tanigu Tjizera - a 25-year-old private secretary from Witvlei in the Omaheke Region. She holds a degree in quantity surveying and commercial management

Miss Universe 2024: Meet the contestants

Miss Universe 2024, the 73rd Miss Universe pageant will be held on November 16 at the the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. The country known for its rich culture, ancient ruins, dazzling beaches, and incredible cuisine has been chosen to host the competition for the fifth time after 1978, 1989, 1993, and 2007. A total of 114 national queens have been crowned up to this point and are all set to compete in this year's highly anticipated beauty pageant. Mister Global 2024 is Daumier Corilla from the Philippines

Daumier Corilla of the Philippines was proclaimed Mister Global 2024 on Sunday, October 6 at MCC Hall of The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi in Bangkok, Thailand. The 28-year-old model, actor, and host bested over 30 other contestants to become the first-ever Filipino winner of the international male pageant. Logina Salah, a 34-year-old mother of one from Alexandria, was crowned Miss Universe Egypt 2024 during the national final recently held in Cairo. She succeeds last year's winner Mohra Tantawy and will now prepare to represent Egypt at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico this November. Bahraini-Filipino Shereen Ahmed crowned Miss Universe Bahrain 2024

Shereen Ahmed was recently crowned Miss Universe Bahrain 2024 and will compete in the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November. The 29-year-old Bahraini-Filipino beauty succeeds last year's winner Lujane Yacoub. She is the fourth woman to represent Bahrain at Miss Universe. After a 23-year hiatus, Hong Kong is set to return to the Miss Universe stage this year with Miss Universe Hong Kong 2024 Joanne Rhodes. The 24-year-old art advisor and model edged out 15 other finalists to win the competition on September 26 at the Go Park Sai Sha. Aside from the crown, she also bagged the Fan Favorite and Miss Photogenic awards. Yan Kiu and Juliette Louie were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. USA's Janelis Leyba was crowned Miss Asia Pacific International 2024 on Monday, October 7 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City, Philippines. The 20-year-old model and student from New York City beat over 30 other contestants to become the first representative from the United States of America to win the international title. The Miss International organization has officially announced the names of the contestants who are vying for Miss International 2024. A total of 75 beauties from different countries and territories are expected to compete for the coveted international beauty title. The contestants will start arriving in Japan on October 29 and will be immersed in various social, cultural, and educational activities. Reigning Miss International Andrea Rubio from Venezuela will crown her successor on November 12 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall. "Sustainability in Pageantry" will be the main theme for the 62nd edition of the pageant. This is in line with its post-pandemic advocacy "Beauties for SDGs" which started in 2022.
