Miss World Guyana 2022: Meet the 10 finalists


Miss World Guyana 2022 grand coronation night will take place this Sunday, August 21 at the National Cultural Centre in Georgetown.

Reigning Miss World Guyana, Joylyn Conway, will crown her successor at the end of the event. The next titleholder will represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant.

Tickets for the show are for sale at That Look Boutique, Giftland Mall (Electronics), Ramada Georgetown Princess Hotel, and the National Cultural Centre.

Here are the 10 finalists representing all the regions of Guyana:

Miss Barima Waini, Esther Marslowe is currently a student at the University of Guyana pursuing a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies. She served as an intern at FAO of the UN where she assisted with the implementation of a climate change project and was responsible for liaising with key stakeholders to formulate a National Climate Change Committee for Guyana. She is also very passionate about volunteering and partakes in monthly visits to alternative childcare homes for girls where she helps to provide a safe space for them to share their opinions and talents.

Miss Pomeroon-Supenaam, Emaley Nurse is a self-taught entrepreneur with a passion for community service and charity. She helps to provide hampers, gifts, party bags, and food to less fortunate families in Guyana. She aspires to become a psychologist and also wishes to expose unemployed women to the idea of investing in the crypto market so that they will be able to earn and provide for their families.

Miss Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, Malinda Ho-A-Lim enjoys modeling, singing, and helping the needy. She actively makes donations to orphanages and also helps to take care of children belonging to single-parent families. She also engages in clean-up campaigns in her community and at the sea walls. Her future goal is to positively impact the lives of young women and girls and her favorite quote is “a little kindness goes a long way.”

Miss Demerara-Mahaica, Andrea King is a lover of fashion, photography, and dance which led her to be featured in numerous photoshoots, runway activities, and dance productions. She is an avid public speaker and possesses an excellent track record of volunteerism since she would have spent many of her summer holidays volunteering at a local literacy institute teaching reading and phonics to young children. She also possesses a bachelor’s degree in business management and administration and is currently employed at Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GTT).

Miss Mahaica-Berbice, Naina Pai is a model who resides in Beverly Hills, California. She graduated from Cornell University with honors and holds a degree in computer science. She is passionate about literacy and spends time teaching English to adults in her community. She loves to travel and has been to 17 different countries and counting.

Miss East Berbice-Corentyne, Shannan Sooklall is a passionate and spirited young woman with a love for pageantry and is the second princess of Miss Berbice Educational Institute. Growing up, Shannan always aspired to be a positive role model by encouraging people to embrace their differences.

Miss Cuyuni-Mazaruni, Arian Richmond is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Tourism and Hospitality Management at the UNICAF University, Uganda as part of the Government of Guyana GOAL Scholarship. She is also a budding hair care entrepreneur, and makeup artist and is quite the "cook." Her life is centered around youth development and she aspires to be the CEO of her own nationwide beauty chain which will provide gainful employment for young professionals.

Miss Potaro-Siparuni, Raeshauna Jones is a highly motivated and enthusiastic young woman with a passion for community service which includes assisting in clean-up efforts. She enjoys reading and telling stories to children and in her spare time, she donates sanitizing products to the less fortunate. Raeshaunna’s undying passion for singing led her to volunteer as a secretary for a vocal identity series here in Guyana.

Miss Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo, Krystal Collymore describes herself as a multidimensional individual and a great role model to the persons around her. She possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and an Associate's Degree in Humanities. She is also a firm believer that pageantry is not only about outer beauty but it’s also about inner beauty and this is what mostly counts.

Miss Upper Demerara-Upper Berbice, Trevlind Harry is a registered nursing assistant at the West Demerara Regional Hospital. She is attached to the neonatal department where she provides care for babies and also advises mothers. She enjoys dancing, modeling, public speaking, sports, and community involvement. She is a firm believer that pageantry not only allows one to learn about themselves but it is also a great way to build and develop pertinent and essential skills such as communication and leadership.
