Miss Guinea Ecuatorial 2022: Meet the winners


Miss Guinea Ecuatorial 2022 (Miss Equatorial Guinea) final gala took place on Saturday, September 17 at Parque Nacional de Malabo (Malabo National Park).

A total of 14 finalists representing various cities and districts of their country participated in the pageant where three winners emerged at the end of the show.

Miss Mbini, Alba Isabel Obama, was crowned Miss Guinea Ecuatorial 2022. The 20-year-old professional model and preuniversity student is expected to represent Ecuatorial Guinea at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in January.

The second place was Vanila Andeme, a 20-year-old hotel receptionist and preuniversity student representing the district of Ebibeyen. She will be competing in the 71st Miss World edition.

Maria Marta Asong of the Akonibe district placed third and will go to the Miss International 2023 pageant in Japan. She is a 20-year-old pre-university student who dreams of becoming a flight attendant.

The new queens succeeded last year's titleholders Miss Universo Guinea Ecuatorial Martina Mituy Avomo, Miss Mundo Guinea Ecuatorial, Gladys Adjaba, and Miss Internacional Guinea Ecuatorial Victoria Kalu Gerona (for Miss International 2022).

Equatorial Guinea, a country in central Africa, debuted at the Miss World pageant in 2012. Its national pageant, Miss Guinea Ecuatorial, was founded 10 years ago and is organized by Agencia Mouge. They sent their first representatives at Miss Universe and Miss International in 2019.

71st Miss Universe pageant will be held in 2023

The Miss Universe Organization confirmed in an email to the national directors that the next Miss Universe edition will be held in the first quarter of 2023. There was no official date and host country that were revealed in the communication but the organization will soon make an official announcement. The reigning queen, Harnaaz Sandhu of India, who was crowned Miss Universe 2021 last December 13 will have a longer reign than expected. Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa is currently the longest reigning Miss Universe in history due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Zozi reigned for one year and five months before she passed her crown on to Andrea Meza of Mexico during Miss Universe 2020 in Hollywood, Florida. Miss Universe Uruguay 2022 is Carla Romero

Miss Mundo Uruguay 2022 Top 8 finalist Carla Romero has been officially revealed as Miss Universe Uruguay 2022. She succeeds Miss Universe Uruguay 2020, Lola de los Santos. The 24-year-old business administration graduate and an image consultant from Montevideo will represent her country at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana this January. Carla went to social media on Thursday, September 2022 to personally announce the news to her followers with a new photo captioned "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams." Miss Cabo Verde International 2022 is Stephany Amado

Cabo Verde or Cape Verde, an African archipelago and island country in the central Atlantic Ocean, will debut at the Miss International pageant later this year. The first edition of the Miss Cabo Verde International pageant themed "Modern Women, Culturally Enriched" took place on Saturday, September 3 at Largo Amílcar Cabral in Várzea, Praia. A total of 20 beauties took part in the glittering competition. Stephany Amado, a 23-year-old model from Mindelo, was crowned Miss Cabo International 2022 and will represent her country at the 60th Miss International pageant in Japan this December.  Tayrine da Veiga, 24, and Jassica Centeio, 27, were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Miss Universe Kyrgyzstan 2022 is Altynai Botoyarova

Miss Kyrgyzstan 2021 Altynai Botoyarova has been officially announced on Wednesday, September 21 as Miss Universe Kyrgyzstan 2022. The 18-year-old model, who was named Miss Kyrgyzstan in September last year, will now prepare to represent her country at the 71st Miss Universe in New Orleans, Louisiana this January. She will be the second representative of her country at Miss Universe. Prior to winning her title, she first joined her national pageant in 2020 at age 16 and got the opportunity to compete in the 70th Miss World. Due to her desire to participate in Miss Universe instead, she gave Miss Kyrgyzstan another try the following year and won. Miss Egypt 2022 is Hagar Mohamed

Hagar Mohamed was crowned Miss Egypt 2022 in a glittering competition held on Sunday, August 28 at the Triumph Luxury Hotel in Cairo. The 26-year-old travel enthusiast bested over 20 other contestants to win her national title. She succeeds last year's winner Nadine El Gaiar. "I still can’t believe that I just did it," she wrote in a statement on social media after winning the competition. "Thank you so much for your support," she added. Miss World Peru 2022 is Jennifer Barrantes

Jennifer Barrantes, representing the region of Ucayali, was crowned Miss World Peru 2022 on Sunday, September 25 in Lima. The 23-year-old beauty is a commercial aviation graduate, a business owner, and an animal advocate. Apart from winning her title, she also bagged several awards including Best Smile, Miss Yolett, and Top Model. Gianella Paz Pacheco of Callao was named first runner-up while Lucia Arellano of Loreto and Fairus Ore of Lima Centro were announced the second and third runners-up, respectively. Virginia Stablum, representing Trentino Alto Adige, bested 19 other contestants to be crowned Miss Universe Italy 2022 on Sunday, September 18 at the Lo Smeraldo in Canosa di Puglia. The 24-year-old model and influencer is no stranger to the limelight, having joined the dating show "Uomini e Donne" in 2018. She will now prepare to represent Italy at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in January. Michela Russo of Sicilia and Chiara Davanzo of Friuli Venezia Giulia were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Elena Izzo of Liguria and Sofia Ferraris of Lombardia rounded out the Top 5.
