Miss Nederland 2022 is Ona Moody
The 25-year-old Zimbabwean-Dutch beauty is a maternity nurse living in Amsterdam. She bested nine other finalists to win her national title.
Eva van de Wetering, 21, finished as first runner-up and bagged the Miss Congeniality award while Solange Dekker, 26, was named Miss Social Media.
Last year's winner Julia Sinning relinquished her crown at the end of the glittering event.
The new Miss Nederland, who was born to a Zimbabwean father and a Dutch mother, will now prepare to represent the Netherlands at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in the first quarter of 2023.
"I think diversity and equal opportunities for everyone are very important. When I was younger, I didn’t realize certain groups get fewer opportunities than others, but when I got older, I found the inequality very confronting," she said in her introduction for Miss Nederland.
"In our society, the awareness is increasing but there is room for improvement. I hope to contribute to that awareness and empower young people to follow their dreams. Because everyone deserves to do that," she added.
