Miss Botswana 2022 is Lesego Chombo


Lesego Chombo edged out nine other finalists to be crowned Miss Botswana 2022 on Saturday, October 22 at the Fairscape Precinct in Gaborone.

The 24-year-old all-rounder beauty from Maun holds a law degree from the University of Botswana and is currently a practicing attorney at the High Court of Botswana. She will now prepare to represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant, whose date and venue are yet to be announced.

Tshepo Nthaga and Sebaga Manyapetsa were named the first and second princesses, respectively.

Last year's winner Palesa Molefe passed the crown to her successor at the end of the event which was also attended by the reigning Miss World from Poland, Karolina Bielawska.

For her Beauty With A Purpose (BWAP) project, the new Miss Botswana aims to create a conducive environment for the development of underprivileged children. During her birthday in July, she hosted a recreational outing for 70 children in need. The event consisted of medical checks, educational activities introduction to instrument playing, art lessons, validation sessions, and more.

Cuba's Juan Carlos Ariosa wins 8th Mister Global competition

Mister Global Cuba Juan Carlos Ariosa beat 38 other competitors to win Mister Global 2022 held on Saturday, February 11 at the Royal Park Rajapruek in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The 28-year-old actor, model, and dental surgeon originally from Matanzas, Cuba succeeded Danh Chieu Linh of Vietnam for the coveted international title. He also bagged the Mister Photogenic award. Oscar Guerrero of Colombia and William Gama of Brazil were named the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Kim Hee Won of Korea and Setthapan Thongsuk of Thailand rounded out the Top 5 finalists. California's Athenna Crosby crowned Miss World America 2024

Athenna Crosby of California bested over 40 other contestants to win the Miss World America 2024 pageant on Sunday, November 17 in Seattle, Washington. The 26-year-old American-Venezuelan model and actress succeeds last year's winner Victoria DiSorbo and will now prepare to represent the United States of America at the 72nd Miss World. Kimberly Nwankolo of Oregon was named first runner-up while Anne Li of the District of Columbia, Aishwarya Kumar of Central Washington, and Heather Alexia Santos of Washington were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. The 24-year-old real estate agent succeeds last year's winner Anne Baldridge and will now proceed to represent Maine at Miss USA 2025. Jennifer Barreto of San Sebastián triumphed over 30 other contestants to win Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2026 on Thursday, June 25 in Caguas. The 27-year-old psychologist will represent Puerto Rico at the Miss Universe 2026 pageant to be held in the Caribbean island this November. Miss Universe Netherlands 2026 is Melissa Bottema from Groningen

Melissa Bottema was proclaimed the winner of Miss Netherlands 2026 (Miss Universe Netherlands) on Saturday, June 27 at Studio 21 in Hilversum. The 25-year-old social worker, gymnastics coach and model from Groningen was crowned by her predecessor Nathalie Mogbelzada who made the Top 30 at Miss Universe 2025 last November in Bangkok, Thailand. The 26-year-old beauty from Fukuoka Prefecture will represent Japan at the Miss Universe 2026 pageant in Puerto Rico this November.
