Miss Universe Botswana 2024 is Thanolo Keutlwile

After a 10-year hiatus, Botswana is all set to return to the Miss Universe stage with newly crowned Miss Universe Botswana 2024 Thanolo Keutlwile. The 28-year-old medical doctor and international model won her title during the national competition on Saturday, September 21 at the Gaborone International Conference Centre (GICC). Botswana's last participation at Miss Universe was in 2013 with Tsaone Macheng. The country has won the international pageant once during its debut in 1999 courtesy of Mpule Kwelagobe. The new Miss Universe Botswana will now represent the "Gem of Africa" at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November. "I am overflowing with gratitude; truly, life brings me joy and ease. Leah Khumo Barobetse was crowned Miss Supranational Botswana 2024 on Saturday, April 6 at BNYC, Fairgrounds in Gaborone. The 25-year-old model and licensed aesthetic laser therapist will represent Botswana at Miss Supranational 2024 in Poland this July. Kefilwe Gabonakemo was named first runner-up while Seabe Sefakonyana finished as second runner-up. Last year's winner and Miss Supranational 2023 Top 24 Dabilo Moses crowned her successor at the end of the event. Miss Botswana 2024 is Anicia Gaothusi from Tutume

Anicia Gaothusi was crowned Miss Botswana 2024 (Miss World Botswana 2024) in a glittering ceremony held on Saturday, March 23 at the Royal Aria Conference Centre in Tlokweng, Gaborone. The 22-year-old student at the Gaborone University College of Law and Professional Studies (GUC) beat nine other finalists to win the national title. She is now expected to represent Botswana at the 72nd Miss World competition. Halle Chandapiwa Hirschfeld and Sebaga Lea Manyapetsa were named the first and second princesses, respectively. Completing the Top 10 contestants were Charmaine Keletso Reasentse, Emma-Anne Tshisimogo, Lefika Arhea Tladi, Lorato Kganyapelo, Otshepo Omphile Nthonyana, Relebanye Bakane and Christina Karin Vanstaden. She previously held the title Miss Teen Botswana 2019 and participated in Miss Teen International 2019 in Gurugram, India where she finished as second runner-up. Dabilo Moses was crowned Miss Supranational Botswana 2023 on Saturday, April 15 at the Royal Aria Convention Center in Gaborone. The 22-year-old model hailing from Maitengwe bested 11 other finalists to win the first edition of the national pageant. She will now prepare to represent Botswana at Miss Supranational 2023 in Poland this July. Laura Alfred was named the first runner-up while Stephinah Sebina finished second runner-up. Precious Haushiko and Mosa Balesamang rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Reigning Miss Supranational from South Africa, Lalela Mswane attended the event as a special guest. No stranger to pageantry, the first ever Miss Supranational Botswana was a finalist at Miss Botswana 2021 and last year, she clinched the title of Miss Independence Botswana 2022. Lesego Chombo edged out nine other finalists to be crowned Miss Botswana 2022 on Saturday, October 22 at the Fairscape Precinct in Gaborone. The 24-year-old all-rounder beauty from Maun holds a law degree from the University of Botswana and is currently a practicing attorney at the High Court of Botswana. She will now prepare to represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant, whose date and venue are yet to be announced. Tshepo Nthaga and Sebaga Manyapetsa were named the first and second princesses, respectively. Last year's winner Palesa Molefe passed the crown to her successor at the end of the event which was also attended by the reigning Miss World from Poland, Karolina Bielawska. After weeks of intensive tasks and training, the Top 10 finalists selected for Miss Botswana 2022 have been officially announced on September 22. The national final will be held for the first time in an outdoor space on Saturday, October 22 at the Fairscape Precinct in Gaborone. Last year's winner Palesa Molefe will crown her successor at the end of the event and the next Miss Botswana is expected to represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant. The Top 30 contestants who will be vying for the title of Miss Botswana 2022 have been officially announced by the organizers. Entries for the national competition closed on July 28 and a selection panel had a tough job narrowing down all applicants to just 30. The organizers also announced that the Top 15 will be determined by how the contestants perform by public vote, the selection panel, gym session, and the photography session. Four contestants with the most likes, shares, and comments on their pictures on the Miss Botswana official Facebook page will progress to the Top 15. This year's final competition is expected to take place in September and last year's winner Palesa Molefe, who placed in the Top 40 during the 70th Miss World edition, will relinquish her crown to her successor at the end of the event. After a busy couple of weeks interviewing each contestant in this year's Miss World Head to Head Challenge and the public votes have been tallied, the winners were finally revealed on Thursday, December 9 at the Capitolio De Puerto Rico in San Juan. The winners are contestants from Botswana , Palesa Mofele, Cameroon , Audrey Monkam, Cote D'Ivoire , Olivia Yacé, Nepal , Namrata Shrestha, Nicaragua , Sheynnis Palacios, Paraguay , Bethania Borba, Philippines , Tracy Perez, and Venezuela , Alejandra Conde. Miss World Cayman Islands, Colombia, Haiti, Indonesia, Mexico, Mongolia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam were the rest of the Top 16. This year broke records on the Mobstar Voting platform with 1.4 billion views and 70 million votes, making it busier this year than the last few years put together.
