Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2022 is Miss Abia, Ada Eme

Ada Eme, a 24-year-old model and event planner representing Abia, was proclaimed the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2022 in a glittering national competition held on Friday, October 21 at Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.

The new queen bested 36 other contestants to win the 34th MBGN edition and clinch the title of Miss World Nigeria 2022. She succeeds last year's winner Oluchi Madubuike and will now prepare to represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant on a date yet to be announced.

Miss Edo, Montana Onose Felix, finished second and received the title of Miss Universe Nigeria 2022 while Miss Anambra, Genevieve Ukatu, Miss Abuja, Ifeoma Uzogheli, and Miss Lagos, Lydia Balogun rounded out the Top 5 and took home the titles Miss Supranational Nigeria, Miss Ecowas Nigeria, and Miss Tourism Nigeria, respectively.

The new Miss World Nigeria advocates for empowering young women and children in her country through education. She said in a short video clip for the MBGN pageant: "I strongly believe that education gives us a fighting chance and a voice, and I believe this is the true essence of beauty and who I am as an individual."

Nigeria has won Miss World once with Agbani Darego, the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2001, and the first black African to win the international title.
