Miss World Belize 2022 is Elise-Gayonne Vernon


Elise-Gayonne Mariliz Vernon was crowned Miss World Belize 2022 on Saturday, October 29 at the Ramada Princess Hotel in Belize City.

The 21-year-old farmer and beekeeper from the village of Biscayne in Belize District received the national crown from last year's titleholder Markeisha Young.

"Thank you to everyone who played a significant part in my pageant journey. I could not have done this without your support," Elise wrote in a statement on social media.

The new Miss World Belize will now prepare to represent the “Hidden Jewel” of the Caribbean and Central America, Belize, at the 71st Miss World pageant whose date and venue are yet to be announced.

Business science student Paris Cawich was named Miss Global Belize 2022 and is expected to go to the international Miss Global 2023 pageant in Vietnam.

Tori Hazel Chaplin, a business management and environmental science student, was announced as the first runner-up.

Daumier Corilla of the Philippines was proclaimed Mister Global 2024 on Sunday, October 6 at MCC Hall of The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi in Bangkok, Thailand. The 28-year-old model, actor, and host bested over 30 other contestants to become the first-ever Filipino winner of the international male pageant. Shereen Ahmed was recently crowned Miss Universe Bahrain 2024 and will compete in the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November. After a 23-year hiatus, Hong Kong is set to return to the Miss Universe stage this year with Miss Universe Hong Kong 2024 Joanne Rhodes. A total of 75 beauties from different countries and territories are expected to compete for the coveted international beauty title. The contestants will start arriving in Japan on October 29 and will be immersed in various social, cultural, and educational activities.
