Miss Universe Spain 2023 is Athenea Pérez of Murcia


Athenea Pérez, representing Murcia, bested 16 other competitors to win Miss Universe Spain 2023 in a glittering event held on Saturday, July 1 at the Los Olivos Beach Resort in Costa Adeje, Tenerife.

The 27-year-old model with a double degree in marketing and advertising will now represent Spain at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador. She succeeds last year's winner and Miss Universe 2022 Top 16 semifinalist Alicia Faubel.

Carolina Espeso Jerez of Canarias and Julia Rodrigo of Comunidad Valenciana were named the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Paula Villalobos of Extremadura and Mariana Mujica of Comunidad de Madrid were the rest of the Top 5 finalists.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Laura Mederos of Andalucia, Helena Sanchez of Asturias, Yolanda Francisco of Cantabria, Nicka Ruiz of La Rioja, and Nerea Caccho of Navarra.

This year's pageant was hosted by former titleholder Sarah Loinaz (Miss Universe Spain 2021) together with Victor Santiago, a Puerto Rican singer and "Día @ Día" co-host on Telemundo Puerto Rico.

No stranger to pageantry, the new Miss Universe Spain has already participated in the competition in 2019 and placed first runner-up to Natalie Ortega (Miss Universe Spain 2019).

Alejandra Rodríguez was crowned Miss Universe Buenos Aires 2024 in a competition held on Sunday, April 21 at Corregidor Hotel in La Plata. The 60-year-old lawyer and journalist bested more than 30 other contestants to win the title. She will now prepare to represent Buenos Aires at Miss Universe Argentina 2024. To recall, the Miss Universe Organization removed the age limit requirement last year so now anyone from the age of 18 can join the pageant and this applies to all its national franchises. New Miss USA and Miss Teen USA franchise partner announced

Fashion designer Laylah Rose has been announced as the new license holder and will serve as the president and CEO for the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants. The founder of Laylah Rose Couture and also the CEO of VIP Pageantry replaces Miss Brand and former Miss USA national director Crystle Stewart. Reno, Nevada will again host this year's Miss USA and Miss Teen USA with Emmy Award-winning executive producer Kerri Zane of Kerri Zane Enterprises and Bud Brutsman of Brentwood Communications International, Inc. handling the productions. Samantha Poole bested 11 other finalists to be crowned Miss New Zealand 2024 (Miss International New Zealand 2024) on Sunday, May 5 at Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna Beach. The 21-year-old model and digital design graduate of Auckland University of Technology will represent New Zealand at Miss International 2024 in Tokyo, Japan later this year. Celinee Santos Frias was crowned Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2024 during the Miss Republica Dominicana 2024 final competition held on Sunday, May 5 at Centro de Convenciones Sambil in Santo Domingo. The 24-year-old model and actress, representing Distrito Nacional, will now represent the Dominican Republic at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico later this year. Hawaii's Savannah Gankiewicz becomes the new Miss USA

The Miss USA organization has just announced Savannah Gankiewicz of Hawaii as the new Miss USA following the resignation of Noelia Voigt. According to the official announcement, Savannah will be crowned in her home state of Hawaii in a special coronation ceremony next Wednesday, May 15. The new Miss USA was crowned  Miss Hawaii USA in January last year and went on to participate in Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada last September. She finished as first runner-up. Savannah is of Filipino, Vietnamese, and Polish descent born and raised in Kihei on the island of Maui. She is a model, entrepreneur, and self-love advocate. "My decision to accept the Miss USA crown was not one that was made lightly. I stand with Noelia and admire her strength to step down and prioritize her mental health," she wrote in an official statement. Noelia Voigt steps down as Miss USA 2023

Miss USA 2023 Noelia Voigt officially announced her shocking resignation as titleholder in a post on social media on Monday, May 6. "I realize this may come as a large shock to many. Never compromise your physical and mental well-being. Our health is our wealth," she wrote. "A million thank you's to all of you for your constant and unwavering support.
