FAVORITES: Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Top 12 early favorites

The Miss Universe Philippines 2023 competition began with the official announcement of the Top 40 contestants on February 18, followed by their introduction along with the cities and provinces they represent. Two of this year's batch of beauties were part of last year's Top 5 finalists ⁠— Miss Universe Philippines Tourism 2022 Michelle Daniela Dee (also former Miss World Philippines) of Makati and Miss Universe Philippines Charity 2022 Pauline Amelinckx of Bohol. This is also the third time the Boholana representative participated. Michelle Dee hints at return to Miss Universe Philippines

Former Miss World Philippines and Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Miss Universe Philippines Tourism 2022 Michelle Daniela Marquez Dee has hinted at her return to pageantry. Her recent comment #deepatapos (not yet done) on social media created a buzz among the pageant fans who are wishing for her to represent the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador. Registrations for Miss Universe Philippines 2023 are still open until the 5th of February and it has yet to be confirmed if the actress and model will actually be joining this year's edition. The 27-year-old daughter of former Miss International Melanie Marquez and actor Derek Dee won Miss World Philippines 2019 and placed in the Top 12 at the Miss World pageant held in London. Last year, Michelle represented Makati City and came very close to winning Miss Universe Philippines but lost to her friend Celeste Cortesi who unfortunately failed to reach the Top 16 in Miss Universe 2022, breaking the place

It's confirmed, the 72nd Miss Universe edition (Miss Universe 2023) will be held later this year in the Land of Volcanoes, El Salvador. The announcement was made by the country's President Nayib Bukele during the 71st Miss Universe final competition in New Orleans. "El Salvador is a country that is full of beauty. We have the best surfing beaches in the world, magnificent volcanoes, exquisite coffee and we have now become the safest country in Latin America," the President stated in a recorded video. Miss Distrito Capital, Diana Silva, bagged the title of Miss Venezuela 2022 during the 70th year anniversary edition of the Miss Venezuela pageant on Wednesday, November 16 at the Poliedro de Caracas. The 25-year-old cabin crew and advertising student succeeded last year's winner Amanda Dudamel and will now represent Venezuela at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant (Miss Universe 2023). Miss Kyrgyzstan 2022 is Diami Almazbekova

Diami Almazbekova was crowned Miss Kyrgyzstan 2022 in a glittering national competition held on Thursday, October 13 in Bishkek. The 20-year-old professional model currently based in Moscow bested over 20 other contestants to win the coveted national title. She is now expected to represent her country at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023). Altynai Beishenbaeva was named first runner-up while Aiperi Keneshbekova and Medina Amirova were announced the second and third runners-up, respectively. Last year's titleholder Altynai Botoyarova, who will compete in the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA this January, passed the crown to her successor at the end of the event. The national pageant was organized by the Beauty Company Kyrgyzstan under the leadership of Ryskul Namazbekova.
