Miss Universe Suriname 2024 is Pooja Chotkan


After 25 years, Suriname is set to return to the Miss Universe stage with the newly announced Miss Universe Suriname 2024 Pooja Chotkan.

Pooja is a 22-year-old geosciences major at the University of Suriname. She is the winner of last year's Miss Tropical Beauties Suriname.

Suriname, a small country on the northeastern coast of South America, last joined Miss Universe in 1999 with Serafija Niekoop.

The new Miss Universe Suriname from Paramaribo enjoys nature, hiking, outdoor life, and traveling.

She advocates for educating and raising awareness, particularly among Gen Z, about the significance of utilizing our natural resources while ensuring the preservation of our ecosystem for future generations.

Pooja will represent Suriname at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November.

Miss USA 2025: Meet the contestants

Miss USA 2025, the much-awaited 74th Miss USA pageant will be held on Friday, October 24 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. This year's competition marks the fourth occasion it will take place in Reno after 2019, 2022, and 2023. Also, this will be the first edition under the leadership of the new Chairman, President, and CEO, Thom Brodeur. Chayathanus "Cheraim" Saradatta from Thailand was crowned The Miss Globe 2025 on Wednesday, October 15 at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana, Albania. The 31-year-old model of Hiananese-Chinese descent bested 49 other contestants to win the international beauty title. She also bagged the People's Choice award. Melissa Queenie Sapini was officially crowned Miss Universe Haiti 2025 in a special ceremony held on Saturday, October 18 at The Palm Theater (Embassy Suites) in Boca Raton, Florida. The 22-year-old Haitian-American TV host will now prepare to represent Haiti at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November.
