Jamaica's Gabrielle Henry in ICU after horrific accident at Miss Universe 2025
Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry will stay in the hospital following her horrific accident during the Miss Universe 2025 preliminary competition on November 19 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The 28-year-old doctor accidentally fell from the stage while walking in her evening gown and was immediately rushed to the local hospital.
Her sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, who is currently in Thailand with their mother, Maureen Henry, advised the Miss Universe Jamaica organization of the latest development.
She said, "Gabby isn't doing as well as we would have hoped, but the hospital continues to treat her accordingly."
Medical personnel have indicated that Gabrielle will be required to remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a minimum of seven days, as doctors continue their close monitoring and specialized care.
The national pageant organization encouraged the public and social media users to avoid sharing negative comments, misinformation, or speculation that may cause further distress to the family.
"Our primary focus remains on Gabrielle's recovery and the well-being of her loved ones. We kindly request continued compassion, sensitivity, and privacy as the family navigates this challenging period," said the national directors Mark McDermoth and Karl Williams in their statement.
The 74th Miss Universe final competition took place on Friday, November 21 at Impact Challenger Hall where Mexico's Fatima Bosch was declared the winner.
