Miss World Somalia 2022 is Bahja Mohamoud

A student and entrepreneur originally from Beledweyne, Bahja Mohamoud, has been officially announced as Miss World Somalia 2022. She is now expected to represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant. The 22-year-old is currently studying at the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and enjoys swimming, boating, piano, violin, volunteering at animal shelters, and cooking every cuisine under the sun. Bahja grew up with a very early passion for medicine, mental health awareness, and education, with a particular interest in healthcare within the Somali community. Her first business was a chemical dependency clinic that had the goal of reducing the stigma of mental health conditions and co-occurring drug addiction in her community when she was only 18. Hagar Mohamed was crowned Miss Egypt 2022 in a glittering competition held on Sunday, August 28 at the Triumph Luxury Hotel in Cairo. The 26-year-old travel enthusiast bested over 20 other contestants to win her national title. She succeeds last year's winner Nadine El Gaiar. "I still can’t believe that I just did it," she wrote in a statement on social media after winning the competition. "Thank you so much for your support," she added. Malaysia's representatives for Miss World 2022, Miss Supranational 2023, and Miss Grand International 2022 have been selected during the HyperLive Festival Malaysia 2022 on Saturday, August 27 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Meet the winners: Miss World Malaysia 2022 - Wenanita Angang, 23, from Kuala Penyu, is a conference producer living in Kuala Lumpur. She will represent Malaysia at the 71st Miss World pageant. Qin Zewen has been announced the new Miss World China and will represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant. The 25-year-old former Essence Securities employee replaces Ruan Yue, who was stripped of her title due to "accusations of misconduct violating the Miss World's purpose." Qin's appointment as the new titleholder sparked an online controversy because she was chosen instead of the runners-up, and when you thought things couldn't get any worse, her educational qualification and employment background were also questioned. Allegedly, she holds a degree in computer engineering as well as a master's in finance and worked as a market analyst at one of the leading securities corporations in China. Andrea King, representing Demerara-Mahaica, was crowned Miss World Guyana 2022 on Sunday, August 21 at the National Cultural Centre in Georgetown. The 25-year-old project manager holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management and is currently employed at Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GTT). Miss Cuyuni-Mazaruni, Arian Richmond, and Miss Upper Demerara-Upper Berbice, Trevlind Harry, were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Miss World Guyana 2019 Joylyn Conway, who placed in the Top 40 at the 70th Miss World, reliquished her reign at the end of the event. The 26-year-old beauty who holds two master's degrees in marketing and business from the Sorbonne University in Paris will represent Colombia at the 71st Miss World pageant. She speaks several languages including French, English, Italian, German, and her native Spanish. Sofia Donado of Magdalena was named Virreina while Eleonora Penagos of Bogota and Miranda Rodríguez of Guaviare were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Miriam Xorlasi Tordzeagbo was crowned Miss Ghana 2022 (Miss World Ghana) on Sunday, August 14 at The Avenue Event Centre by Unique Floral (East Airport) in Accra. Rocklyn Krampah and Irene Vanessa Vifah were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Leoné Van Jaarsveld, 26, from Swakopmund was named first runner-up while Diana Andimba, 23, from Windhoek finished as second runner-up. The new Miss Namibia is a basic life support paramedic and student at Namibia University of Science and Technology pursuing a degree in emergency medical care (advanced life support).
