Miss Ghana 2022 is Miriam Xorlasi Tordzeagbo


Miriam Xorlasi Tordzeagbo was crowned Miss Ghana 2022 (Miss World Ghana) on Sunday, August 14 at The Avenue Event Centre by Unique Floral (East Airport) in Accra.

Rocklyn Krampah and Irene Vanessa Vifah were the first and second runners-up, respectively.

The new Miss Ghana, a 22-year-old school teacher from Adidome, also bagged the Beauty With A Purpose, Miss Fitness, Top Model, and Best Talent awards.

Miriam succeeds Miss Ghana 2020 Monique Mawulawe Agbedekpui and will represent her country at the 71st Miss World edition.

"Few weeks ago I was just a young girl from Adidome with big dreams. Today, I woke up as [Miss Ghana] 2022," she wrote in a statement on social media after winning her title.

"I can’t just explain enough how grateful I am to carry this title of service for the next year," she added.

Ghana, a country in West Africa, has yet to win the Miss World pageant since its debut in 1959. Its highest placement was second runner-up in 2013 with Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter.

81-year-old model Choi Soon-hwa joins Miss Universe Korea 2024

Choi Soon-hwa recently created a buzz in the pageant community when she appeared as the oldest contestant vying for Miss Universe Korea 2024. The 81-year-old senior model who walked her first runway in her 70s made history as she competes alongside more than 30 others in the upcoming national competition. If she wins this year's Miss Universe Korea, she will be the oldest Korean representative and contestant in the 73-year history of the Miss Universe pageant. Veena Praveenar Singh bested 76 other contestants to win Miss Universe Thailand 2025 in a spectacular show on Saturday, August 23 at MGI Hall in Bangkok. The 29-year-old beauty representing the province of Saraburi will now prepare to compete in the upcoming Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Miss Anambra, Basil Onyinyechi, was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 on Saturday, August 30 at Balmoral Convention Center in Victoria Island, Lagos. The 22-year-old model from Beijing will represent China at Miss Universe 2025 (74th Miss Universe) whose date and venue have yet to be announced.
