Fabiola Calvo appointed as Miss Asia Pacific Costa Rica 2024

Fabiola Calvo has been officially announced as Miss Asia Pacific Costa Rica 2024 and will represent her country at the next Miss Asia Pacific International competition. The 28-year-old is a professional nurse, entrepreneur, activist, and health advocate. She is no stranger to pageantry, having placed in the Top 10 at Miss Costa Rica 2016 and Top 5 at Miss Costa Rica 2023. Fabiola also held the title Miss America Latina Costa Rica 2019 and went on to compete in Miss America Latina 2019 where she placed in the Top 5. It has yet to be announced when and where the next Miss Asia Pacific International edition will be held. The international pageant was last held in 2019 with Spain's Chaiyenne Huisman winning the title in Pasay City, Philippines. Lisbeth Valverde was crowned Miss Costa Rica 2023 (Miss Universe Costa Rica 2023) on Wednesday, August 16 at Estudio Marco Picado in San José. The 28-year-old entrepreneur hailing from San Ramón holds a degree in special education from the National University of Costa Rica. Her social project "Manos Unidas Costa Rica" advocates for education, inclusion, and the preservation of our planet. She succeeds last year's winner María Fernanda Rodríguez Ávila and will now prepare to represent Costa Rica at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador this November. Natalia González and Yoselyn Porras were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Catalina Murillo and Fabiola Calvo rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Stacy Montero has been officially appointed as Miss International Costa Rica 2023 and will soon represent her country at Miss International 2023 in Japan. The 20-year-old business management student, dancer, and TV host previously won the title of Miss Teen Mundial Costa Rica 2018 and most recently, Miss Eco International Costa Rica 2024. She succeeds Miss International Costa Rica 2022 Mahyla Roth who placed in the Top 15 among 66 contestants at last year's Miss International pageant. Miss Costa Rica 2023: Meet the 10 contestants

Following a preliminary event held last May 23, the 10 contestants vying for Miss Costa Rica 2023 (Miss Universe Costa Rica 2023) have been officially announced. The judges consisting of former Miss France Véronique de la Cruz, marketing expert Diana Bonell, and singer Rodolfo González selected the finalists who were officially presented via the television program "7 Estrellas" on Thursday. Miss Grand Costa Rica 2023 is Kristell Ruiz Freeman

Miss Costa Rica 2022 first runner-up Kristell Ruiz Freeman has been officially announced as Miss Grand Costa Rica 2023 on Friday, May 19 in San José. The 26-year-old journalist, audiovisual producer, and bilingual from the province of Limón will now represent Costa Rica at Miss Grand International 2023 in Vietnam this October. Kristell was crowned by her predecessor Brenda Muñoz, last year's titleholder and representative during the 10th Miss Grand International in Indonesia. The ceremony took place at Studio Gama Producciones in the Costa Rican capital city. No stranger to pageantry, she took part in Miss Costa Rica 2022 last September and placed first runner-up to María Fernanda Rodríguez Ávila who went Miss Universe 2022 in New Orleans. Miss Supranational Costa Rica 2023 is Margaret Gray

Margaret Gray has just been officially announced as Miss Supranational Costa Rica 2023 and will now prepare for Miss Supranational 2023 pageant in Poland. The 21-year-old jazz dancer and medical student succeeded last year's titleholder, Miss Supranational Costa Rica 2022 Natalia González. No stranger to pageantry, Margaret was previously named Miss Costa Rica Beauty Worldwide and went on to win the international Miss Beauty Worldwide 2021 title in Tacna, Peru. She is bilingual and holds a qualification for teaching jazz dance. Her hobbies include reading, volunteering, and outdoor walks. Costa Rica has yet to win Miss Supranational. Its highest placement was in 2017 courtesy of Nicole Menayo who finished as one of the Top 10 finalists. Miss Costa Rica 2022 is María Fernanda Rodríguez Ávila

María Fernanda Rodríguez Ávila bested eight other finalists to be crowned Miss Costa Rica 2022 on Wednesday, September 28 in San José. The 24-year-old beauty from San Carlos is a model, civil engineer, and trilingual. She succeeds Valeria Rees and will represent Costa Rica at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana this January. Kristell Ruiz Freeman, 25, and Mariella Conejo Benavides, 27, were the first and second runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Costa Rica is no stranger to pageantry. She was named Miss Earth Costa Rica 2017 and participated in the Miss Earth 2017 pageant held in the Philippines. Costa Rica has yet to win Miss Universe since its debut at the international pageant in 1954. The country has however placed in the Top 10 four times in the last 20 years. Roberto Mena has been officially announced as Mr World Costa Rica 2022. The 24-year-old journalist and model from the canton of Escazú will represent Costa Rica at the 11th Mr World pageant. According to Concurso Nacional de Belleza Costa Rica, Roberto has fought for animal welfare for many years, campaigning alongside beauty queens and personalities from the Costa Rican media. The 11th Mr World competition is expected to be held in the middle of 2023 but the final date and venue are yet to be announced by the Miss World Organization. Over 20 beauties have already been confirmed as representatives of their respective countries and territories for the 71st Miss World edition. The final competition and official venue of the prestigious pageant are yet to be announced by the Miss World Organization. Valeria Rees was officially crowned as Miss Costa Rica 2021 in a special ceremony held at the Estudio Marco Picado on Thursday, October 28. The 28-year-old law student was appointed as Miss Costa Rica last August 30. She succeeds Ivonne Cerdas and will now prepare to represent her country at the 70th Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, Israel this December. In addition to wearing a crown handcrafted by designer George Bakkar, Valeria also receives a car, three million colones, and other sponsored prizes. Adriana Moya has been officially announced by The Finalists organization on Saturday, May 21 as Miss Grand Costa Rica 2021. The 26-year-old architect from San Pedro, Montes de Oca, succeeded Gabriela Jara and will represent her country Costa Rica at Miss Grand International 2021 possibly in Bangkok later this year. No stranger to beauty pageants, Adriana was named first runner-up during the 47th edition of Miss Intercontinental in Manila, Philippines. "It will be my fourth time representing Costa Rica internationally, but the butterflies still feel the same and the emotion is the same," she wrote on social media.
