Miss Costa Rica 2023 is Lisbeth Valverde


Lisbeth Valverde was crowned Miss Costa Rica 2023 (Miss Universe Costa Rica 2023) on Wednesday, August 16 at Estudio Marco Picado in San José.

The 28-year-old entrepreneur hailing from San Ramón holds a degree in special education from the National University of Costa Rica. Her social project "Manos Unidas Costa Rica" advocates for education, inclusion, and the preservation of our planet.

She succeeds last year's winner María Fernanda Rodríguez Ávila and will now prepare to represent Costa Rica at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador this November.

Natalia González and Yoselyn Porras were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Catalina Murillo and Fabiola Calvo rounded out the Top 5 finalists.

The new Miss Costa Rica is no stranger to pageantry, having won several beauty titles in the past including Miss Centroamerican 2015, Miss Intercontinental Costa Rica 2016, Miss Costa Maya Internacional 2019, and Miss Panamerican 2019.
