Miss Universe Denmark 2023 Nikoline Uhrenholt Hansen is off to a 22-hour flight to El Salvador to compete in the upcoming 72nd Miss Universe pageant. The Danish beauty shared photos of her departure moments at Kastrup Copenhagen Airport on Wednesday, November 1 before taking off. "I am now officially departing for the Miss Universe competition in El Salvador. I can't wait to get there and meet all of the amazing people and the other delegates," she wrote on social media. Her national director Lisa Lents and fellow queen sisters sent her best wishes in the comment section. "Have the most spectacular journey. I can't believe you are going to Miss Universe today. Miss Denmark Organization officially announced Miss Denmark 2023 Nikoline Uhrenholt Hansen as Miss Universe Denmark 2023 on Tuesday, October 3 through social media. The 21-year-old beauty who hails from a small town in the north of Denmark is currently a student of marketing and economics in Copenhagen and also a receptionist and personal assistant at a cosmetic clinic. Apart from winning Miss Denmark in August, she also bagged the special award "Best Charity Ambassador" for her work with the Danish Heart Organization. Her advocacy for people with heart disabilities was inspired by her grandfather who had heart failure a few years back. Denmark is set to return to the Miss Earth pageant this year with newly appointed Miss Earth Denmark 2023 Silvia Ooi Topholm. The 22-year-old biracial beauty is a medical student from Copenhagen who was born to a Danish father and a Malaysian mother. She placed in the Top 11 at Miss Denmark 2023 and bagged the Miss Natural Beauty award. For her advocacy, Silvia believes that science is the key to solving the current climate crisis and many other global issues. She wants to use her platform to draw attention to environmental and biotechnical start-ups. Miss Denmark 2023 third runner-up Julie Brink has been officially announced as Miss International Denmark 2023. The 26-year-old law student from Copenhagen will now represent Denmark at Miss International 2023 in Tokyo, Japan this October. She succeeds last year's titleholder Dana Myrvig, No stranger to pageantry, the new Miss International Denmark first participated in Miss Denmark 2021 and bagged the Best Public Speaker award. Nikoline Uhrenholt Hansen bested 29 other competitors to be crowned Miss Denmark 2023 on Sunday, August 27 at Cirkusbygningen (The Circus Building) in Copenhagen. The 21-year-old beauty who also bagged the Best Charity Ambassador award succeeded last year's winner Malou Peters from Næstved and went home with a prize package worth over 60,000 Danish kroner. Nikoline is currently a marketing and economics student at the Copenhagen Business Academy and also works as a receptionist at a cosmetic clinic. Fatmagül Karabacak and Naja Mathilde Rosing were announced as the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Sille Lyngsdorf Albertsen and Julie Brink rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Miss Denmark 2021 Johanne Grundt Hansen has been officially appointed as Miss World Denmark 2023 and will represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant. The 21-year-old is a sales assistant and part-time model from Fensmark. She holds a black belt in karate, a big passion she practiced for over 12 years. According to Miss Denmark Organization, Johanne is an ambassador for Plastic Change, a Danish NGO that aims to raise awareness about the growing plastic pollution in the oceans and the water environment. The new Miss World Denmark is no stranger to international pageantry. After winning Miss Denmark 2021, she was appointed as Miss Supranational Denmark and went to the Miss Supranational 2022 pageant in Nowy Sącz, Poland. Miss Denmark Organization headed by its CEO Lisa Lents proudly announced Dana Myrvig as Miss International Denmark 2022 and will head over to the Miss International 2022 in Tokyo, Japan this December. The 26-year-old social educator, activist, and model graduated with a bachelor's degree in social education and a diploma in neuropsychology. She was a finalist in Miss Denmark 2019 and now succeeded Anna Diekelmann, Miss International Denmark 2019. Dana was born in Mali to a Danish father and a Sudanese mother. Over the last six years, she has been passionate about charity and volunteering, especially for disabled people and children, and her biggest dream is to open her own volunteer center. This year's Miss International pageant celebrates its 60th edition and also marks its return after a 2-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She has already completed high school, where she studied marketing and economics, and is now taking a gap year, where she works full-time with her own company.
