Ghana's MALZ Promotions renounces Miss Universe license

MALZ Promotions, under the leadership of Menaye Donkor Muntari officially announced their decision to renounce their license for Miss Universe Ghana. The reason was due to "the new and sudden implementation of the Miss Universe Organization business model under the JKN Global Group's leadership" which according to them is "not aligned with MALZ Promotions' brand objectives." "MALZ Promotions regrets any inconveniences that their decision may cause to fans and enthusiasts and wishes the Miss Universe Organization the very best in their future endeavors," they said in an official statement released on Friday, February 10. Miss Ghana 2022 is Miriam Xorlasi Tordzeagbo

Miriam Xorlasi Tordzeagbo was crowned Miss Ghana 2022 (Miss World Ghana) on Sunday, August 14 at The Avenue Event Centre by Unique Floral (East Airport) in Accra. Rocklyn Krampah and Irene Vanessa Vifah were the first and second runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Ghana, a 22-year-old school teacher from Adidome, also bagged the Beauty With A Purpose, Miss Fitness, Top Model, and Best Talent awards. Miriam succeeds Miss Ghana 2020 Monique Mawulawe Agbedekpui and will represent her country at the 71st Miss World edition. "Few weeks ago I was just a young girl from Adidome with big dreams. The 27-year-old professional model representing the Ashanti Region succeeds Naa Morkor Commodore and will represent her country at the 71st Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2022) pageant expected to be held next year. Naa Morkor Commodore has been officially crowned Miss Universe Ghana 2021 in a special ceremony held on October 13, Wednesday at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra. The 26-year-old model and gifted dancer from Prampram in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana succeeded Chelsea Tayui and will now prepare to represent her country at the 70th Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, Israel in December. "Yesterday marked the beginning of a new journey for another daughter of our motherland. Finally, the crown has been passed on to another young Ghanaian woman. She will be the new leader to all she serves and a role model to many young girls across the length and breadth of this nation. Shivali Patel (USA), Linda Sibrián (El Salvador), Queenie Benjarat (Thailand), and Jenelle Thongs (Trinidad and Tobago) completed the Top 5 finalists. The professional makeup artist and singer from Kokofu in the Ashanti Region, Ghana, will compete with 57 other beauties during the 12th edition of Miss Supranational on Saturday, August 21 at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz, Małopolska, Poland.
