India's Rachel Gupta loses Miss Grand International title

Rachel Gupta from India made history when she was crowned Miss Grand International 2024 last October in Bangkok, Thailand. She became the first Indian woman to win the beauty title. On Wednesday, May 28, the Miss Grand International organization officially announced her termination as titleholder with immediate effect. According to MGI, the decision was made due to her "failure to fulfill her assigned duties, engagement in external projects without prior approval, and refusal to participate in the scheduled trip to Guatemala." Contrary to MGI's announcement, Rachel also shared her own "decision to step down" and cited "broken promises, mistreatment, and a toxic environment" as her reasons for returning the crown. "I'm truly sorry if this news has disappointed you. Please know this wasn't an easy decision, but it was the right one for me," she told her supporters. The Top Model competition of the 72nd Miss World was held on Saturday, May 24 at the Trident Hotel Hyderabad, India. Wearing stunning creations by acclaimed Indian designer Archana Kochhar, the 108 contestants impressed the judges with their elegance and confidence on the runway. According to the Miss World organization, "Each look featured exquisite fabrics sourced from Telangana, beautifully showcasing the region's rich textile heritage and craftsmanship." Hosted by former Miss World Stephanie del Valle from Puerto Rico, the competition also showcased the beauties in captivating masterpieces by fashion designers from their own countries. The 72nd Miss World festival continues in Telangana, India with the official announcement of the continental winners of this year's head to head challenge. Advancing to the Top 10 in their continental regions were Idil Bilgen of Türkiye, Millie-Mae Adams of Wales, Faith Bwalya of Zambia, and Anna-Lise Nanton of Trinidad and Tobago. The four remarkable contestants impressed the distinguished panel of judges with their eloquence, passion, and the power behind their Beauty With a Purpose projects. India's Rachel Gupta was crowned Miss Grand International 2024 in a glittering final show on Friday, October 25 at the MGI Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. The 20-year-old model, actress, and entrepreneur hailing from Jalandhar, Punjab bested over 60 other contestants to win the competition. Femina Miss India 2024, the 60th annual Femina Miss India pageant was held last Wednesday, October 16 at  Famous Studios  in Mumbai. Nikita Porwal, a 24-year-old actress from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, bested 29 other contestants to be crowned Femina Miss India World 2024 (Miss World India). Rekha Pandey of Union Territory and Aayushi Dholakia of Gujarat were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Sifti Singh Sarang of Delhi, Shruti Raul of Goa, Angelia Marwein of Meghalaya, and Arshia Rashid of Maharashtra rounded out the Top 7 finalists. Miss Universe India 2024 is Rhea Singha from Gujarat

Rhea Singha was crowned Miss Universe India 2024 on Sunday, September 22 at the Zee Studios in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The 19-year-old beauty from Ahmedabad, Gujarat bested 50 other competitors to win the national title. She received her crown from Indian actress and former Miss Universe India Urvashi Rautela. Mr India World 2024 is Gokul Ganesan from Chennai

Mr India World 2024 was officially unveiled following the final round of in-person auditions held on Wednesday, July 17 in Mumbai. Today, Gokul Ganesan was officially announced as the grand winner. He was sashed by none other than Mr World 2016 Rohit Khandewal, India's first Mr World winner. The new Mr India World is a 24-year-old fashion model and entrepreneur from the city of Chennai. Reigning Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios arrives in India

Fresh from her trip to the Philippines, Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios arrived in India on Wednesday, April 8 to continue her Asia Tour. The Nicaraguan beauty queen was warmly welcomed early in the morning at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi by the new Miss Universe India team. The national license for the Miss Universe pageant in India was previously held by Miss Diva under its parent organization, Femina Miss India. Since February this year, it was taken over by the Glamanand Group with owner Nikhil Anand as the new national director. An independent Miss Universe India organization was established. Sheynnis has now checked in at Le Méridien, a 5-star hotel in New Delhi. She is expected to stay in the incredible country until May 9.
