Miss Grand International 2020 Best in Swimsuit Top 20 announced

Miss Grand International organization has officially announced the Top 20 from the swimsuit competition that was held last held last Saturday, March 20 at lebua at State Tower in Bangkok, Thailand. 10 contestants were voted online by the fans. They are Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala, Myanmar, Paraguay, Colombia, and Vietnam. The other 10 selected by the judges are United States, Kenya, Thailand, Brazil, Argentina, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Czech Republic, Peru, and the Dominican Republic. Miss Grand International 2020 Swimsuit Competition was held on Saturday, March 20 at the Lebua at State Tower - home of lavish suites, breathtaking views, fine dining, and iconic rooftop bars. Hosted by former Miss Grand Thailand, Pamela Pasinetti, the competition showcased 63 contestants and their gorgeous swimsuit bodies with the breathtaking view of Bangkok, Thailand as a backdrop. The combined scores of the swimsuit competition, preliminary, and final will determine the winner for the Best in Swimsuit award that will be announced on the final show this March 27 at the SHOW DC Hall. Standouts from today's competition were from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Japan, Kenya, Mauritius, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Russia, and Vietnam. Miss Grand Myanmar 2020 Han Lay cried out for support from the international pageant community amid the current political situation in her country. "We are fighting for our democracy but they are using guns and scare the people," she said while teary-eyed in a very emotional video shared online. According to various news outlets, the armed forces in Myanmar have carried out a coup d'etat to seize control of the country. Since then, hundreds of peaceful protesters were gunned down, thousands of people were arrested, and beatings and torture are constantly being reported. In a social media post on Friday, Han wrote: "As a representative of Myanmar, I will walk on the stage of Miss Grand International with the advocacy STOP THE WAR AND VIOLENCE." Miss Grand International 2020: Cambodia wins 'Country Choice of the Year'

Miss Grand Cambodia Chily Tevy has been named "Country Choice of the Year" after earning a total of 37,839,768 points from the fan votes. Indonesia came so close with 37,696,144 points followed by Colombia with 479,292 points, Ecuador with 475,618 points, and lastly, Brazil with 24,830 points. The contestants looked stunning in their fabulous evening gowns as they introduce themselves on stage. Over 60 beauties were officially welcomed by the Deputy Permanent Secretary for BMA, Wullaya Wattanarat, MGI executives, and the longest-reigning Miss Grand International Valentina Figuera of Venezuela. President and founder of Miss Grand International, Nawat Itsaragrisil, said that pushing to hold the pageant in Thailand despite the challenges of the pandemic can help kickstart its tourism industry, and again promote the country as one of the best and safest travel destinations in the world. Miss Grand International 2020 pre-pageant activities continue with today's visit to the beautiful Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha). Wat Phra Kaew is regarded as the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. The complex consists of a number of buildings within the precincts of the Grand Palace in the historical center of Bangkok. It houses the statue of the Emerald Buddha, which is venerated as the country's palladium. The contestants looked stunning in their traditional Thai costumes as they were photographed at the temple with the reigning Miss Grand International Valentina Figuera of Venezuela. Following the mandatory 14-day hotel quarantine, the Miss Grand International 2020 contestants kicked off their pre-pageant activities in Bangkok. The week's highlights include their official photoshoots, Thai cooking class at Blue Elephant Cooking School and Restaurant, and a special dinner with MGI executives for the Top 5 pre-arrival campaign winners. Miss Grand International 2020 Top 15 bare face challenge announced

Miss Grand International 2020 challenged 63 contestants to remove their makeup and show off their real faces online. The Top 15 contestants voted by fans as the most beautiful bare faces on Facebook and Youtube were Miss Grand Indonesia, Philippines, Ecuador, Colombia, Nigeria, Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, Belarus, Bulgaria, Egypt, South Africa, Uruguay, Chile, Guatemala and Peru. They will have the opportunity to work with the perfume brand of MGI that currently has four available fragrances namely Milan, Rio, Seoul, and Paris. The contestants are currently utilizing their 14-day quarantine time participating in different online challenges and activities provided by the organization such as getting to know, eating Thai food, wearing Thai traditional costumes, and live talk. MGI 2020: Miss Grand Kenya and Nigeria test positive for COVID-19

Miss Grand International organization released an official announcement on Thursday, March 4 that two of the candidates who are currently on a 14-day quarantine in Bangkok have unfortunately been tested positive for COVID-19. Following the standard regulations by the government and doctor’s advice, Miss Grand Kenya, Irene Ng’endo, and Miss Grand Nigeria, Chikaodili Nna-Udosen, were moved to Piyavate Hospital for further treatment. The organization also informed that all related areas of the official accommodation, the Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel, were sanitized and the rest of the candidates are all cleared from the infection as their test results came back negative. On a lighter note, beauties from Indonesia (Aurra Kharishma), the Philippines (Samantha Bernardo), Myanmar (Hann May), Mexico (Angela Yuriar), and Ecuador (Sonia Luna) have earlier been confirmed as Top 5 pre-arrival fan favorites and won the opportunity to join a special meal with MGI president and founder, Nawat Itsarag

The contestants of the Miss Grand International 2020 pageant have already started their journey to Bangkok, Thailand for the upcoming competition. Among the early birds are the beauties from the Philippines, Samantha Bernardo, Myanmar, Han Lay, Albania, Fjorela Lezo, Kosovo, Frontina Gashi, Vietnam, Nguyen Le Ngoc Thao, and Puerto Rico, Fabiola Valentín González. The highest voted contestants during their departure will have the chance to join a special meal with the MGI organization president and founder, Nawat Itsaragrisil. Miss Grand International 2020 press conference held in Bangkok

The press conference for Miss Grand International 2020 pageant was held on Monday, February 15 in Bangkok, Thailand. Around 70 beauties are expected to arrive in Thailand on February 28 and they will be staying at the Golden Tulip Sovereign. The official hotel will accommodate the contestants during their pre-pageant activities and the 14-day quarantine which is mandatory due to the pandemic. It was also officially announced that the final competition will be held at the SHOW DC Hall in Bangkok on Saturday, March 27. Miss Grand International organization president Nawat Itsaragrisil assured that the contestants will be safely taken care of during the entire competition. VLCC Femina Miss India 2020: Manasa Varanasi to represent India at 70th Miss World

Manasa Varanasi of Telangana bested 14 other finalists to be crowned VLCC Femina Miss India World 2020 in a competition held at the Hyatt Regency in Mumbai on Wednesday, February 10. The 23-year-old beauty studied at Vasavi College of Engineering in Hyderabad and works as an analyst at a financial firm. She will now prepare to represent India at the 70th Miss World pageant later this year. Manika Sheokand of Haryana was named VLCC Femina Miss Grand India 2020 while Manya Singh of Uttar Pradesh clinched the runner-up position. Khushi Misra and Rati Hulji completed the Top 5 finalists. Miss World 2019 second runner-up and Miss World Asia 2019, Suman Rao, crowned her successor at the end of the event. The VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 grand finale will be aired over Colors HD and JioTV on Sunday, February 28.
