The 18-year-old model and athlete from Tortola received the crown from her predecessor Xaria Penn. She enjoys playing piano, modeling, and track and field as her hobbies and one day she would like to travel the world comfortably and live a healthy lifestyle. Prior to being appointed as the new titleholder, Lia was one of the Top 3 finalists during last year's pageant. Carissa Yap bested nine other finalists to be crowned Miss Universe Singapore 2022 in a national competition held on Monday, October 17 at the Alcove at Caldwell House. The Miss Universe Thailand organizers revealed the winning design called "Iconic of Songkran" on Wednesday, October 12 on its official social media accounts. Out of hundreds of entries from talented Thai designers, three were selected to present their concept to the Miss Universe Thailand committee, and eventually, one design won the majority of the fans' and the judges' votes.
