Celeste Cortesi receives People Asia's Women of Style and Substance award


Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi was honored at People Asia's Women of Style and Substance award on Monday, October 10 at Okada Manila.

The 24-year-old Filipino-Italian model and beauty queen stunned in a black gown by Anthony Ramirez as she received the award alongside nine other well-accomplished incredible women in politics, arts, business, fashion, tourism, and international relations.

"I am extremely honored to be able to stand alongside brilliant and empowered women, thank you People Asia for this award as a woman of style and substance," she wrote in a statement on social media.

"I will cherish the meaning of this award for the rest of my life and I hope to continue inspiring people through authenticity, relatability and kindness," she added.

Celeste also considered the award as a constant reminder that "beauty should always go beyond physical appearance, how you inspire others and what you do to help your community is what truly matters."

The reigning Miss Universe Philippines has been preparing to represent the Philippines at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA this January.

Miss Hawaii USA 2023 is Savannah Gankiewicz

Miss Wailea Savannah Gankiewicz was crowned Miss Hawaii USA 2023 in a state competition held on Sunday, January 15 at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu. The 27-year-old model of Filipino, Vietnamese and Polish descent from Maui was also awarded Miss Photogenic. She will now represent Hawaii at the Miss USA 2023 pageant in Reno, Nevada later this year. Kawena Kan-Hai, Breea Yamat, Mikayla Baptista, and Ronelle Valera were announced as the first, second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Last year's titleholder who competed in Miss USA 2022 last October, Kiana Yamat, passed the crown to her successor at the end of the event. Another winner proclaimed at the same venue was Miss Hawaii Teen USA 2023 Noelani DeNisi. She was crowned by her predecessor Malulani Paiste and will be heading to the Miss Teen USA 2023 pageant. Celinee Santos Frias was crowned Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2024 during the Miss Republica Dominicana 2024 final competition held on Sunday, May 5 at Centro de Convenciones Sambil in Santo Domingo. The 24-year-old model and actress, representing Distrito Nacional, will now represent the Dominican Republic at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico later this year. Miss USA 2023 Noelia Voigt officially announced her shocking resignation as titleholder in a post on social media on Monday, May 6.s "I realize this may come as a large shock to many. Never compromise your physical and mental well-being. Our health is our wealth," she wrote. "A million thank you's to all of you for your constant and unwavering support. Miss Universe Germany 2024 is Pia Theissen

Pia Theissen was crowned Miss Universe Germany 2024 on Sunday, April 28 at Living Hotel de Medici in DĂĽsseldorf. The 25-year-old social worker, occupational therapist and yoga teacher from Cologne will now prepare to represent Germany at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico later this year. Annabelle Keller and Ilke Filiz were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Angelina Matic, Jennifer Monreal, and Tatjana Genrich rounded out the Top 6 finalists. Miss Universe Netherlands' national director Milou Verhoeks, reigning Miss Denmark Nikoline Uhrenholt Hansen, and former Miss Universe Germany Soraya Kohlmann were among the judges. Jeymi Escobedo was crowned Miss World Guatemala 2024 during the glittering Miss Guatemala 2024 final on Wednesday, May 1 at Teatro Dick Smith in Guatemala City. The 18-year-old, representing the department of SuchitepĂ©quez, succeeds  Marcela Miranda and will now prepare to represent Guatemala at the 72nd Miss World.
