Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2024 is Sakhile Dube

Pageant veteran Sakhile Dube was crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2024 in a national competition held on Saturday, May 18 in Harare. The 27-year-old fashion model from Bulawayo will now prepare to represent Zimbabwe at the Miss Universe 2024 competition in Mexico later this year. Lisa Sibanda was named first runner-up while Ruvimbo Tafadzwa finished as the second runner-up. This year's pageant marked the second edition since former beauty queen Tendai Hunda took over the Miss Universe license, 22 years after Zimbabwe last joined the prestigious international pageant. Last year's winner Brooke Bruk-Jackson, the silver finalist in the Miss Universe 2023 "Voice for Change" challenge, passed the crown to her successor at the end of the event. Sakhile Dube joins Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2024

Fashion model Sakhile Dube has been officially revealed as one of the contestants vying for Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2024. The 27-year-old fashionista, representing Bulawayo, is currently pursuing fashion design and styling studies at the Milan School of Fashion in Italy. No stranger to pageantry, Sakhile previously held the title of Miss Earth Zimbabwe and represented her country at Miss Earth 2022 in the Philippines. She finished in the Top 8 among 85 contestants. Last year, she was named Miss Supranational Zimbabwe and went on to participate in Miss Supranational 2023 in Poland where she not only placed in the Top 24 but also bagged the continental title of Miss Supranational Africa 2023. Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2023 is Brooke Bruk-Jackson

Brooke Bruk-Jackson edged out 11 other finalists to be crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2023 on Saturday, September 16 at Harare Hippodrome. The 21-year-old model will now prepare to represent Zimbabwe at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this December. It will be her country's first participation in over two decades. Amanda Mpofu and Nokutenda Marumbwa were the first and second runners-up, respectively. "My heart is full of joy and gratitude. Thank you to each and every one of you for your kind messages and support," shared the new Miss Universe Zimbabwe. "I have gained this crown for our beautiful country, to love and to serve our people, to represent Zimbabwe internationally, and to show the world the uniqueness of Zimbabwe and Zimbabweans." Following rounds of auditions across Zimbabwe, the Top 25 contestants vying for Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2023 have been officially announced. This year's pageant will be the first edition of Miss Universe Zimbabwe under the new national director Tendai Hunda, a former Miss World Zimbabwe and Miss Intercontinental 2015 fourth runner-up. The next Miss Universe Zimbabwe, to be crowned on September 16, will represent the southern African country at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November. Zimbabwe will return to Miss Universe pageant after 22 years

After a 22-year absence, Zimbabwe, a landlocked country in southern Africa, is expected to return to the Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador later this year. Previously held by the first ever Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Yvette D'Almeida Chakras, the Miss Universe license is now in the hands of Tendai Hunda, a former Miss World Zimbabwe and Miss Intercontinental 2015 fourth runner-up. Joining her as chief of operations and managing director is Zimbabwean television personality and communications consultant, Rumbidzai Takawira. Zimbabwe last joined Miss Universe in the year 2001 with Tsungai Muswerakuenda. Its highest placement was achieved in 2000 when Corinne Crewe finished in the Top 10 from a field of 79 competitors in Nicosia, Cyprus.
