Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 Top 18 officially introduced, new crown unveiled

The Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 pageant has officially kicked off in an official press conference held on Monday, September 18 at the Lotte Hotel Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City. Eighteen contestants selected to compete for this year's title have been officially introduced to the media — Huong Ly, Emma Le, Lydie Vu, Lan Anh, Diem My, Kim Anh, Quynh Nhu, Le Nam, Anh Nguyet, Mai Phuong Thao, Nhat Le, Dinh Thi Hoa, Bui Quynh Hoa, Pham Thu, Thu Uyên, Ngoc Mai, Hong Dang, and Lan Anh va H'Duyen. A new crown called "Life in the Sunrise" by Jessica Jewelry was also unveiled during the special event. It was crafted with natural topaz and sapphire, and worth over 2 billion Vietnamese dong. The winner of Miss Universe Vietnam 2023, to be crowned later this month, will represent the Southeast Asian country at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador this November. Meet Miss Universe Korea 2023 Kim So-yoon

Kim So-yoon was crowned Miss Universe Korea 2023 in a national competition that took place last August 27 in Seoul. The 28-year-old beauty from Gyeongnam succeeded last year's titleholder Hanna Kim and will represent Korea at the 72 Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador this November. Over 30 contestants took part in this year's glittering event which was hosted at the Walkerhill Hotels & Resorts. Korea has yet to win the Miss Universe title since joining the prestigious pageant for the first time in 1954. Its highest achievement so far was first runner-up in 1988 with Jang Yoon-jeong. The country's last placement was third runner-up in 2007 with Honey Lee. Miss Universe Singapore 2023 is Priyanka Annuncia

Priyanka Annuncia was crowned Miss Universe Singapore 2023 in an Amber Lounge event held on Saturday, September 16 at Millenia Walk, Singapore. The 26-year-old entrepreneur and personal trainer who just recently completed a double major in law and criminology will now prepare to represent Singapore at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November. Seven beauties were selected to take part in this year's national final of Miss Universe Singapore which was organized for the first time by the new license holder, the Pink Tank Events. Nikita Carter was named first runner-up while Radhika Chandhok bagged the Best in Swim Shoot award. The rest of the finalists were Danielle Jamie Raj, Juhi Nars, Fyn Foo, and Jaime Ashley. Erica Robin was crowned Miss Universe Pakistan 2023 during the live stream of the national pageant on Thursday, September 14 via the official YouTube channel of Miss Universe. The 24-year-old model from Karachi bested four other finalists to become the first-ever Miss Universe Pakistan. She will now represent her country at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November. Jessica Wilson, a 28-year-old cyber security engineer was named first runner-up while Hira Inam (24), Malyka Alvi (19), and Sabrina Wasim (26) were the rest of the finalists. Amara Bo was crowned Miss Universe Myanmar 2023 in the national competition held on Thursday, September 14 at the Novotel Yangon Max Hotel. The 26-year-old model representing Kengtung beat over 30 other competitors to win the title on her second try. She was in the Top 10 during last year's edition. Dee of Mawlamyine was named first runner-up while Khaymar Budathoki of Bhamo, Nang Nandar Linn of Tachileik, No No May of Pathein, and Thin Sandar Pyae Thiha Aung of Pyin Oo Lwin were the second, third, fourth, and fifth runners-up, respectively. Miss Universe 2023: Voice for Change video contest announced

The Miss Universe Organization introduced on Wednesday, September 13 its new initiative, the Voice for Change video contest for the upcoming Miss Universe 2023 pageant. According to the official announcement, "Each delegate will be invited to submit a video entry speaking about a cause important to them, and three winners will be selected to receive $12,000 each for a cause of their choice!" Highlighting the advocacies of the incoming contestants reinforces MUO's commitment to being a force for good and sparking change which is at the very heart of the organization. Miss Los Santos, Natasha Vargas was crowned Miss Panama 2023 (Miss Universe Panama 2023) in a glittering competition held on Wednesday, September 13 at the Teatro Anayansi (Centro de Convenciones de Atlapa) in Panama City. The 25-year-old journalism graduate bested 14 other competitors to win the national title. She succeeds Solaris Barba and will now prepare to represent Panama at Miss Universe 2023 this November in El Salvador. Katherine Fuentes of Chiriquí and Diana Lemos of Panamá Oeste were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Miss Universe Equatorial Guinea 2023 is Diana Hinestrosa

Miss Corisco, Diana Hinestrosa was crowned Miss Universe Equatorial Guinea 2023 during the Miss Guinea Ecuatorial 2023 final held on Saturday, September 9 at Polideportivo de Malabo. The 25-year-old economic sciences graduate who is currently pursuing her master's in psychology will now represent Equatorial Guinea at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador. She succeeds last year's winner Alba Isabel Obama. Also crowned during the same event was the representative of Malabo, Nieves Bilora Lohoba, who clinched the title of Miss Internacional Guinea Ecuatorial 2023 (Miss International Equatorial Guinea 2023). She will now proceed to compete in Miss International 2023 in Japan this October. Last September 2, Carmen Nguema Mangué who represented Akurenam, was proclaimed Miss Mundo Guinea Ecuatorial 2023 (Miss World Equatorial Guinea 2023) and is now expected to participate in Miss World 2024. The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has officially announced its decision to eliminate all age limits across its competition. In an Instagram story, MUO posted on Tuesday, "This change will apply for all 2024 pageants globally." Every adult woman in the world will now have the opportunity to become the next Miss Universe. This significant move towards a more inclusive pageant system came after allowing transgenders, mothers, and married women to compete. The reigning Miss Universe, R'Bonney Gabriel of the USA, became the oldest winner to date when she was crowned at age 28 in New Orleans last January. To recall, during the competition she was asked "Miss Universe recently made an inclusive change, allowing mothers and married women to compete this year. Hosted by Henrys Silva and Nieves Soteldo, the contestants officially received their sashes during the special program broadcasted by Venevisión. Over two weeks after winning the coveted Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023, Karla Guilfú Acevedo has returned to her hometown Patillas. The 24-year-old beauty originally from Esmeralda del Sur, was overjoyed to receive a heartwarming welcome upon her return on Saturday following her successful stint in the national competition. Karla is set to represent Puerto Rico in the upcoming 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador this November. Known for her incredible first runner-up finish at Miss Supranational 2021, the psychology graduate student is expected to do very well at Miss Universe and hopefully bring home the sixth crown for Puerto Rico.
