Milla Magee was crowned Miss England 2024 (Miss World England) on Friday, May 17 at The Grand Station in Wolverhampton. The 23-year-old qualified beach lifeguard from Newquay, Cornwall bested 39 other contestants to win the national title. She received the crown from her predecessor, the 71st Miss World Top 8 finalist who was awarded the titles Miss World Europe and Miss United Kingdom  Jessica Ashley Gagen . Charlotte Grant from Liverpool was named first runner-up while Melissa Butcher from Lancaster finished as the second runner-up. According to her bio, the first-ever "plus-sized" Miss England is passionate about conservation and lifesaving. She went to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) where she finished with a distinction, has a diploma in Greek Mythology, and can speak Latin. Miss Lancashire, Jessica Ashley Gagen from Skelmersdale bested 27 other finalists to be crowned Miss England 2022 on Monday, October 17 at the Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport. The 27-year-old model and aerospace engineering student at the University of Liverpool became the first redhead beauty to ever win the title in pageant history. She succeeds last year's winner Rehema Muthamia and will now prepare to represent England at the 71st Miss World pageant.
