Gwendolyne Fourniol of Negros Occidental wins Miss World Philippines 2022

Gwendolyne Fourniol, representative of Negros Occidental, bested 35 other contestants to win the Miss World Philippines 2022 title at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Sunday, June 5. The 21-year-old Filipino-French beauty pursued a degree in economics from the Oxford Brookes University in London. She is an advocate for education and has been working with a non-profit organization that sends underprivileged kids to school. "As an advocate of education, I do agree that during the pandemic we have suffered the most, but the children who have a lack of access to education have suffered the greatest. And working hand in hand with ERDA Foundation who empowered the marginalized Filipino, I believe by uniting benefactors and encouraging our children and allowing them to go back to school, especially during this pandemic will make this world a better place because education is the greatest weapon against poverty," she answered during the question and answer portion. Maria Gigante of Cebu and Charyzah Esparrago of Taguig have been announced the Top 2 finalists at the conclusion of the Miss World Philippines 2022 Head to Head Challenge final round that took place on Monday, May 23 at Twin Lakes Hotel.  Angela Teng of Baliway, Bulacan, Ashley Subijano Montenegro of Makati, and Erika Kristensen of Carmona, Cavite were the rest of the Top 5. For the Talent Competition, 5 contestants emerged at the top from their presentations on Tuesday, May 24 at Hotel Lucky China Town. They are Alison Black of Las Piñas, Gwendolyne Fourniol of Negros Occidental, Paula Madarieta Ortega of Albay, Cassandra Bermeo Chan of San Juan, and Tsina Jade Chu of Iloilo Province. The Miss World Philippines 2022 press presentation took place last Thursday, May 12 at Cove Manila. Thirty-six beauties are vying for the coveted titles at stake and the opportunity to represent the Philippines at the next Miss World, Miss Supranational, Miss Eco International, and Reina Hispanoamericana international competitions. The reigning queens, Tracy Perez, Dindi Pajares, Emmanuelle Vera, and Kathleen Paton will crown their successors at the end of the event. Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez has for the second time departed for Puerto Rico to represent her country at the 70th Miss World final. Wearing a custom white crop blazer and skirt with pearl embellishments by Filipino fashion designer Marc Soliven Ngan during her departure, the 28-year-old Industrial Engineer from Cebu is more than ready to conquer her country's second Miss World crown next week. Former Miss World Philippines Michelle Dee joins Miss Universe Philippines 2022

Former Miss World Philippines titleholder, Michelle Dee, has confirmed her participation in the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines 2022 pageant. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, November 15 she shared her photos by Dennis Sulit with the caption "It’s now or never. Hey Universe, my application video is now live on KUMU (@michellemdee) please check it out if you can." The 26-year-old model and actress is the daughter of a former supermodel and Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez. She was crowned Miss World Philippines 2019 and went on to compete at the 69th Miss World pageant in London, where she placed in the Top 12 among over 100 contestants. Tracy Maureen Perez of Cebu City was crowned Miss World Philippines 2021 on Sunday, October 3 at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center in Olongapo, Zambales. The 28-year-old model and industrial engineer succeeds Michelle Dee and will now prepare to represent the Philippines at the 70th Miss World pageant in San Juan, Puerto Rico in December. Kathleen Joy Paton, Zoe Emmanuelle Vera, Trisha Martinez, Michelle Arceo, Shaila Mae Rebortera, and Tatyana Alexi Austria were respectively named Miss Eco International, Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Tourism Universe, Miss Environment International, Miss Multinational and Miss Eco Teen International Philippines 2021. Riana Agatha Pangindian was the first princess while Janelle Lewis became the second princess.
