Reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska touched down in Manila, Philippines on Wednesday, September 20 for her first official visit to the country. She was accompanied by Miss World CEO and Chairperson Julia Morley as they were welcomed at the Ninoy Aquino International Aiport by Miss World Philippines 2022 Gwendolyne Fourniol and national director Arnold Vegafria. According to the Miss World Philippines Organization, Karolina will stay in the country from September 20 to 23 for various engagements, particularly the Beauty With A Purpose mission. Gwendolyne Fourniol, representative of Negros Occidental, bested 35 other contestants to win the Miss World Philippines 2022 title at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Sunday, June 5. The 21-year-old Filipino-French beauty pursued a degree in economics from Oxford Brookes University in London. She is an advocate for education and has been working with a non-profit organization that sends underprivileged kids to school. Maria Gigante of Cebu and Charyzah Esparrago of Taguig have been announced the Top 2 finalists at the conclusion of the Miss World Philippines 2022 Head to Head Challenge final round that took place on Monday, May 23 at Twin Lakes Hotel.  Angela Teng of Baliway, Bulacan, Ashley Subijano Montenegro of Makati, and Erika Kristensen of Carmona, Cavite were the rest of the Top 5. The Miss World Philippines 2022 press presentation took place last Thursday, May 12 at Cove Manila. Thirty-six beauties are vying for the coveted titles at stake and the opportunity to represent the Philippines at the next Miss World, Miss Supranational, Miss Eco International, and Reina Hispanoamericana international competitions. Former Miss World Philippines titleholder, Michelle Dee, has confirmed her participation in the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines 2022 pageant. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, November 15 she shared her photos by Dennis Sulit with the caption "It’s now or never. Tracy Maureen Perez of Cebu City was crowned Miss World Philippines 2021 on Sunday, October 3 at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center in Olongapo, Zambales. The 28-year-old model and industrial engineer succeeds Michelle Dee and will now prepare to represent the Philippines at the 70th Miss World pageant in San Juan, Puerto Rico in December.
