Miss Universe Philippines 2024: Meet Top 3 national costume competition winners

The Miss Universe Philippines 2024 national costume competition was held last April 28 at Provincial Capitol Gym in Sultan Kudarat. Out of 53 colorful and spectacular costumes inspired by the rich flora and fauna of the Philippines as this year's theme, only three winners have been announced. The winning costumes were from Alexie Mae Brooks of Iloilo, Janet Hammond of Southern California, and Tamara Ocier of Tacloban. They each received P100,000 in cash. Ukraine's Angelina Usanova has revealed the phoenix-inspired national costume she will wear at this year's Miss Eco International competition. "The phoenix is ​​a mythical creature that symbolizes Ukraine and Ukrainians — a country that is under fire every day, but continues to live, rebuild destroyed cities, love, create, give birth to children," the 26-year-old model shared online. Created by Lesia Patoka of Patoka Studio and her team, the costume was made entirely from recycled materials provided by No Waster Ukraine, a non-profit organization promoting ​​responsible consumption and waste management in the country. Vietnam's Do Thi Lan Anh has been announced the winner of the Best in National Costume during the Miss Earth 2023 finals and coronation on Friday, December 22 at Van Phuc City. Designed by the talented Vietnamese fashion designer Nguyen Tien Truyen, her "Nu Vuong" costume was showcased during the preliminary competition held on December 16 at the Van Thanh Flower Village in Dalat. "A deeper love for my Vietnamese heritage that is full of wonder and beauty. It feels surreal that I was given the opportunity to showcase a part of my nation’s history and honor the Vietnamese heroes of the past," she shared online.
