Malaysia's national costume for Miss Universe 2025 officially unveiled


The Miss Universe Malaysia Organization (MUMO) has officially unveiled the national costume of Miss Universe Malaysia 2025 Chloe Lim for Miss Universe 2025.

A press conference was held for the "A Fellowship with Miss Universe Malaysia 2025" on Thursday, October 23 at the Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Bangsar.

Hosted by Miss Universe Malaysia 2025 Top 5 finalist Priyanka Sockanathan, the event was attended by MUMO Chairperson Datin Seri Livonia Ricky Guing and MUMO National Director Charissa Chong.

Designed by Mell Sulaiman, Chloe will be wearing the national costume "The Majestic of Anjung Serimpak" at the 74th Miss Universe pageant in Thailand this coming November.

According to MUMO, the costume embodies the rich history of the Bajau Sama community in Sabah, showcasing the ethnic's deep-rooted connection to the sea and heritage as skilled seafarers.

It features a brass Serimpak headdress shaped like a sailing vessel, accompanied by Selisir fabric hand-embroidered by Bajau Sama artisans while traditional elements such as the Siupu belt and Duang Sama accessories complete the look.

For the first time a national costume representing the Bajau ethnic identity will be worn by a Malaysian delegate on the Miss Universe stage.

"I feel deeply honoured to wear this costume, which truly represents the roots of our people and the beauty of Malaysia's creativity and multicultural spirit. It is a reminder to always embrace our authentic selves and the genuine diversity that defines who we are as Malaysians," said the reigning Miss Universe Malaysia.

She added: "I am determined to represent my country with grace and elegance, while showing that beauty, compassion and intellect can go hand in hand. I will give my very best to make Malaysia proud on the international stage."

Miss Universe Venezuela 2025 is Clara Vegas of Miranda

Clara Vegas triumphed over 21 other contestants to win the title of Miss Universe Venezuela 2025 on Thursday, December 4 in Caracas. The 23-year-old model and actress from Miranda will represent Venezuela at the Miss Universe 2026 pageant to be held in Puerto Rico. Maria Evangelista Alayon of Amazonas was named first runner-up while Milena Paola Soto of Mérida, Gabriela de la Cruz of Yaracuy, and Gabriela Villegas of Monagas were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss Earth 2022 is Mina Sue Choi, first winner from Korea

Mina Sue Choi of Korea bested over 80 other competitors to win Miss Earth 2022 in a glittering competition held on Tuesday, November 29 at Cove Manila, Okada Manila in the Philippines. The 24-year-old communication student succeeded Destiny Wagner of Belize and became her country's first-ever Miss Earth winner. She also bagged three gold medals for the swimsuit, beach wear, and long gown competition, and one bronze for resort wear. Miss Universe Japan 2025 is Kaori Hashimoto from Tochigi Prefecture

Kaori Hashimoto was crowned Miss Universe Japan 2025 in a national competition held on Wednesday, July 16 in Shibuya. The 21-year-old business administration student from Tochigi Prefecture beat over 40 other contestants to win the national title. Saki Fujita and Reina Ishii were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Chiemi Takayama and Naomi Monique Kamidate were the rest of the Top 5 finalists. Miss Venezuela World 2025 is Mística Nuñez of Falcón

Mística Nuñez, representing Falcón, was crowned Miss Venezuela World 2025 in a national competition held at the Studio 1 of Venevisión on Wednesday, November 12 in Caracas. The 24-year-old pharmacist and medical student succeeds last year's titleholder Valeria Cannavò and will represent Venezuela at the Miss World 2026 competition. Kim Thitisan Goodburn was proclaimed Mister International Thailand 2023 in a national competition held on Sunday, September 3 at MCC Hall, The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan in Nonthaburi. The 24-year-old Thai-British model and actor bested 27 other competitors to win the national title.
