Sponsored by Ursula Pule, creative director of Nungu Diamonds, the beautiful masterpiece was inspired by the "Tree of Life" known as the baobab trees. Miss Grand South Africa 2023 is Gugulethu Mayisela

Gugulethu Mayisela was crowned Miss Grand South Africa 2023 in a national competition held on Saturday, July 22 at the Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria. The 19-year-old model from Johannesburg bested 23 other competitors to win the title. She succeeds last year's winner LuJuan Mzyk and will now prepare to represent South Africa at Miss Grand International 2023 in Vietnam this October. "What an honour. I am so proud to say that I am the first black woman to ever represent South Africa at Miss Grand International," she shared online. Thulani Luyanda Ndzotyana was named first runner-up while Joey Roman, Robyn Hill, and Monique Best were announced as the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. The Top 30 contestants vying to become Miss South Africa 2023 have been officially revealed on Wednesday, May 24 exclusively on the Miss SA App. From 30, only the Top 12, to be announced this June, will have the chance to move on to the finals whose date and venue have yet to be announced. Fan voting on the pageant's official app is now open and will close on Sunday, May 28 at 1 p.m. local time (SAST) so don't miss voting for your favorites to enter the next round of the competition. Reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska arrived in Cape Town, South Africa this week with Miss World CEO Julia Morley for a 6-day visit to the rainbow nation. In addition to humanitarian purposes, their official visit also includes the launch of the new Miss World South franchise under Carol Bouwer Productions.  According to Miss World, the new license holder has a long history with the organization having presented the MNET coverage of Miss World 1994 at Sun City. Miss South Africa 2022 first runner-up Ayanda Thabethe has been officially announced on Tuesday, February 28 as Miss Supranational South Africa 2023. The 23-year-old entrepreneur and model hails from Pietermaritzburg and is pursuing a degree in dietetics and human nutrition from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Her campaign "Project Khulisa" aims to improve the future of all South Africans through nutritional intervention and innovation by mobilizing food solutions through initiatives such as community vegetable gardens, food parcels, and education about diet. “After visiting a KZN orphanage, I was surprised at how little consideration is taken by those preparing and funding the meals into providing the children with nutrient-dense meals as most of their meals are supplied by their schools during the day," she wrote on social media. "I hope to transform the standard of food given to children in schools under the National School Nutrition Programme as well as start a
